Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited on a lovely sunny Monday - I've been before but not my visitors from Australia who were blown away by the variety of plants and very impressed with Yanna doing an excellent guiding job on just her first season in the role.
We had lunch in the cafe on site which also impressed by having excellent and imaginative 'real food' options (including gluten free).

Narrow entrance for coaches and no coach parking. No free coffee. A barren place indeed for coach drivers. If you are thinking about a stop here with your passengers, don't bother.

We took a three year old and there was lots of space for him to run around. After we walked to see all the beautiful trees and plants. It had been on old estate which was given to the nation

This was a total joy and surprise. I never knew there was a second national botanic gardens in Ireland, but I would recommend it completely if you have any interest in the natural world. The tour guide Mary was knowledgable and enthusiastic, and adjusted the tour to cater for the interests of the group - there is so much to see that you could be there all day! Would love to return in the autumn when the leaves start to change colour.

Our annual garden pilgrimage lead us to Kilmacurragh Arboretum. Hailing from Dublin, I have been to the National Botanical Gardens in Glasnevin so many times, but, and to my shame, never to Kilmacurragh. We did the tour with Deirdre and enjoyed a scrumptious lunch in the Acton Cafe. The team were fantastic, even with the packed lunchtime crowd they were efficient and friendly.

We went on the guided tour with Maggie on 21/6/'22. She was excellent. She was very pleasant and good-humoured, her commentary was very informative and she interacted very well with all those on her tour. The gardens are simply fabulous - the trees, shrubs, wildflower meadow, pond etc. It's a haven of beauty and peace with all the beautiful sights and sounds of nature at its best.

We had a beautiful visit to the gardens this morning. Maggie gave us an incredible guided tour that we enjoyed beyond all. Her knowledge of the trees, shrubs and flowers is incredible and also her knowledge of the history of the place and people who lived in it. She kept us spellbound for the entire tour and her passion and love of the gardens was infectious! Thank you so much Maggie. You made our day!
