A hidden gem just outside of Dublin this is a place we will return to now often with incredible countryside, interesting walks, and just a place to go and unwind from the city. There are picnic tables and everything is well maintained and just amazing we have this so close to Dublin and for no charge at all.

Can’t believe this is free of charge! Superb short walks with beautiful surroundings and really interesting plants/trees. This was made all the better by the lovely weather we encountered. Highly recommend though would arrive early as small car park.
Big open grass area suitable for picnics

Wonderful walk up the drive to the house. This is free but get there early. Car park fills up quickly but there are lots of spaces in addition to the 5/6 at the entrance gate. August is a good month to visit as there are still many plants in flower and the trees podocarpus especially are breathtaking.

Don't miss these wonderful gardens, they are a rich oasis of calm and tranquility. If you can, book a tour (free!) with Philip who held our group spellbound for over an hour with stories on the estate's background history, botany and ecology, appropriate to all levels of interest. Enjoy their great cafe too.

After the lockdown, we were looking for a place that could lift our spirit. This botanic gardens did just that. It wrap around us with its natural beauty and its exotic presence. A absolute hidden treasure.

Really nice, colorful and beautiful garden! I was so surprised and confused, i never knew that rhododendrons can grow so big trees! Everything is nice and clean, best place to spend a nice day slow walks. Only disapointment that problems with car park, yeah it could damage your day at all. But deffinetly i recomend to visit this garden and see all collections.

I enjoyed every moment spent in this beautiful hidden treasure. I took the free guided tour lead by Angela, who was a fountain of knowledge on the history of the house and garden, as well as the hundreds of trees and plants therein - what a collection...I will definitely return at different times of year to see the changing flowers and foliage, photos of which Angela showed us during the very enjoyable and informative tour. I had lovely coffee in the pretty coffee shop before the tour, and another with a delicious cake afterwards. This is a fantastic amenity, free to all, easily accessible, well signposted, with excellent parking, toilet facilities, the aforementioned coffee shop, and an abundance of beautifully laid out paths and walkways through glorious woods and meadows.

Called into Acton café on the Kilmacurragh Botanical Gardens site. Met the most pleasant staff and had a great lunch. Nothing was too much trouble for the two excellent female staff. Thank you.
