Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very special place, filled with Irish magic. Sea scapes & headlands, seals, seabirds, light house has historical interest, along with old churches & runed cottages.

We traveling the scenic route while we were traveling in Ireland in July. It is a very pretty peninsula and you can enjoy the many places to stop and take pictures.

Loved the drive around the Hook peninsula. The roads are not great but take your time and you'll be rewarded with stunning scenery.
The Hook Lughthouse is the highlight but don't miss Duncannon Beach and Fort and Templar Church.
The views out to sea and along the coast, especially towards Waterford and Dunmore East are mesmerising.
Cannot believe it took me as long as it did to get down here!

Hook lighthouse was a picturesque attraction, with a lovely cliff view. We were disappointed that we were not allowed in after a long drive, which kept us late for our slot. But will go again some day. Just don't be late for your slot. My worst thing of my lovely weekend in Wexford. But the place is amazing anyway.

The Hook Peninsula is just packed with history. On the tip is the world's oldest working lighthouse; 800 years and still going. A couple of miles further inland you will find a Templar's church, a bay where sunken Spanish treasure washes up from time to time, Duncannon Fort, the remarkable Tintern Abbey, Colclough Walled Gardens, and even a shipwreck!
Throw in a few great pubs (Roche's in Duncannon village is a favourite), plus possibly the best restaurant in Ireland (Aldridge Lodge) and you have the makings of a great holiday.
Definitely one of the great undiscovered parts of Ireland and only 45 minutes from Rosslare ferry port.

Even though we are traveling in November, the ring of Hook was a lovely drive. There are so many sites to see along the way. Many of the restaurants are closed for the season so we timed lunch for the lighthouse. Highly recommend the seafood chowder and the fish and chips. It took us about 8 hours to stop off at all the sites throughout the day.

We dedicated one of our mornings while staying in Kilkenney to take the drive down along the coast and check out the Hook Lighthouse. We realy enjoyed the beautiful drive along the coastline and taking in the guided tour of the lighthouse. It was a great way to take advantage of a blustery cool day as the waves were crashing up on the shore making for some good photo ops.

Ring of Hook is much smaller than its ‘sisters’ in SWest but it is glorious. It’s Pretty & quiet with some nice history attached including The Hook Lighthouse. Started at Tibetan Abbey and did a couple of the shorter walks then drove slowly round finishing at The East Passage Ferry which I took to cross to drive to Waterford.
