This cathedral is chock full of history and you can easily spend an hour here taking in the beautiful architecture and reading about how it all came into being. Also, while you're there search out Sheila, a lovely woman docent who, in addition to being kind and lovely, is quite knowledgeable about Christ Church Cathedral and all things Ireland.

Respectful during Saturday evening pre-service times, not to be disrespectful as a visitor, but stunned sunday at mid-afternoon to find the church not only locked, but the barred gates closed and locked and cold. Guess non-members uninvited.

This is a beautiful building in a central location, extremely historical with some great monuments and interesting facts.

Only in the dark and depressing recesses of Lutherian Germany have I come across such a depressing building, soulness, very disappointing

I went to Waterford to trace the Roberts family history and found what I wanted, Thank you very much for showing me around. But one think I am very cross with and that is David Rogers for saying there was a meeting with you on the Monday 25th July 2016 at 10-00am and when I arrived there he had not... More

Beautiful 18th century cathedral. Both Catholic and Church of Ireland Cathedrals in Waterford were designed by the same man, John Roberts and are very different. Christ Church has an amazing ceiling. There are many memorials in the church and the tomb of a merchant named Rice, which is well worth a look! There are daily tours of the church which... More

One of the finest cathedrals on the island of Ireland. Worship has continued on this site since at least the 11th century. As one would expect it is situated in the centre of this interesting historic city.

The interesting thing about this cathedral is that it is one of two in the city designed by the same architect, John Roberts. The Roman Catholic one, very different in style, is a few minutes walk away. Christ Church is very restful, with a clear, unfussy interior - although it's worth looking up at the ornate ceiling. However, it's also... More
