This is a beautiful building with lovely decor and atmosphere. I’ve seen some great amateur performances there including Les Mis, Jesus Christ Superstar and my favorite, Starlight Express. Reasonably priced entertainment. However there is one huge drawback. The lack of legroom in the dress and...More

The Theatre Royal is a gorgeous traditional style theatre with a lush foyer with a modern twist. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic. There is a bar/coffee shop upstairs that opens during the day. Unfortunately it could benefit from more shows and events.

Visited this theatre for an astronomy talk but if you get the chance to see any show here then take it, you will seldom have the opportunity to visit such a fine old theatre kept in such beautiful condition, and a lovely cafe upstairs too.
