Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

No one's talking about the Magic Road!!! So, there's a small section of the drive that's marked with a bolder that says "magic road." It's just a slight hill, but if you stop at the line that's marked, put your car in neutral, and take your foot off the brakes, your car will go up the hill backwards! Maybe for 30 or 40 feet, but fun!
We continued on the drive to a small parking lot, then walked for about 20 minutes to the falls. It's a nice, scenic walk with some sheep in the area (there's some signs for 'no dogs.'

Nice drive on a sunny Saturday morning. Just make sure you get up early so that you can get a space in the limited car parks

Lovely scenic drive to the top. Small Carpark there so you could get out and walk to the waterfall which has a stream flowing beside it also.

This is a beautiful part of Ireland that needs to be visited on foot, by bike or car. Some research in advance to check out the key spots to visit and bring walking boots.

Well signposted route with great views. Roads sometimes narrow, of course. Stop off for Mahon Falls and the section of "magic road."

Lovely scenic area. Great for family walks and picnic. Plenty of sheep grazing around the mountains. Suitable for a buggy. Ample parking nearby but if it's a nice day it can be full.

The Comeragh Mountains are absolutely gorgeous and this scenic drive is as nice as you'll get!
It leads up in a loop from the main Waterford to Cork road to the lovely Mahon Falls. The views are wonderful as you climb and there is ample parking at Mahon Falls followed by an easy 20ish minute walk along a gravel path to the falls.
There is the Magic Road which reputedly will allow your car to roll uphill in neutral! Not sure about that but what I am sure of is how beautiful and serene it is up there.

A single lane, one way loop drive up to Mahon Falls is worth the effort. The falls in the distance flows with vigor, and is an easy traverse up the side of the hill for those a little more adventurous. No facilities in the parking lot. Bountiful sheep roaming the countryside to keep you company with their excrement not too far behind so be wary where you walk.
As you walk up, take time to look back at the valley below, and the Celtic Sea farther out. On a semi clear day like we had, it was a lovely view.

What a nice little drive off the N25: I drove up to Mahon Falls and after a walk around headed back on down only to confront a coach coming the other way at probably the worst possible place he was coming up and I had just rounded a corner. I had no where to go but into a muddy farmers field to let him pass!!!Luckily I didn’t get stuck but must admit it left me a bit flustered and a little surprised he was allowed to be there.

I'm planning a trip to Ireland this summer, and we love to try beautiful drives with some hiking, but I'm having a hard time seeing where exactly this drive is. I see the Mahon Falls on Google Maps, but I'm confused on what roads are included in the Comeragh Drive. That day, we are starting from Waterford and plan to end up in Cork that late afternoon. Can you give me some direction (road names/numbers) on the route to take? I would so greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!
