Reginald’s tower is a landmark in Waterford and unfortunately it’s closed due to Covid restrictions at present. It’s a great photo opportunity and you can read the history of the Tower.

Not open at the time I was there but this is a very beautiful defensive tower, and also the landmark in Waterford. It is possible to visit inside.

Reginalds Tower is a stunning defensive tower at the apex of the Viking Trianlge in Waterford. As other reviews have said here already it is currently closed for renovations but it is still absolutely worth visiting just to see it's exterior and of course the wooden boat monument beside it. I fully intend to come back and see the interior when it reopens but don't let the fact that you cant climb ut stop you from walking along to where the quays turn to see it.…

Unfortunately when you are there in the off-season, this happens! I guess things have to have maintenance from time to time. It was one of my main reasons to visit Waterford, so if it's yours, you might want to call and check ahead of time to make sure it will be open.

I wasn’t sure I wanted to see this but an excellent guide in period costume who acted the part of a household staff member ensured that the entire visit was memorable and well worth while.
