Waterford Viking Triangle is the cultural and historic centre of Waterford, Ireland's oldest city, where in 914 A.D. the Vikings first settled. It is a tranquil place, characterised by narrow streets, historic architecture, atmospheric public spaces and unique cultural and heritage attractions. Wander through Waterford Viking Triangle, visit the home of the global brand that is Waterford Crystal, nine national monuments including a 13th century underground wine vault, three world class museums (Viking, Medieval and Georgian) as well as an array of craft studios, cafes and excellent gift shops. Over 1,000 years of history unfold in just 1,000 paces in this compact and authentically charming location.

So many historical locations all within walking distance. The Bishop's Palace, Reginal's Tower, the Medieval Museum. This cobbled area is well preserved & well presented. Well worth the walk around to take & perfect area to take photographs.

Viewed the Viking Triangle on a cold rainy day, & found the information around the Viking Triangle fairly sparse. It would be nice if you could go into some of the old buildings. It does however have a nice water frontage with interesting cafes &...More

Wonderful area to walk on the cobblestone and take pictures of the area. Reginald's Tower and the the Midevil Museum were must sees. Just knowing you were walking in an area with so much Viking history was cool.

Located at the end of the main street and easy to walk to. Went by it several times and stopped to learn about the Vikings.

While in Waterford, enjoy the history aside from crystal. The triangle offers a lot of great sites and stories. It’s al within walking distance. Everything from Regina’s Tower, Medieval museum and Bishops Palace.

This is a great way to get an understanding of who the Vikings really were. These people were much more than what is seen on TV and in the movies. The Viking Triangle is the oldest Viking settlement in Ireland. Starting with the tower and...More

If in Waterford, the Viking Triangle is well worth the walk. I was there the day after a storm (Hurricane Ophelia) and while it was cool, the skies were blue and the sun was shinning. A beautiful day to walk the triangle.

The walking tour of old Waterford given by the very personable Jack Burtchaell offers an insider's knowledgeable perspective of the lesser known historical features of the city and some of its people, laced throughout with Jack's wry humour.
