Fast efficient service. We required 6 bikes for 4 fit adult "kid's " and 2 electric bikes for middle aged parents. No discount for the 6 bikes, only for orders >30.Collection straightforward, helmets provided and off you go.We set off mid afternoon and throughly enjoyed the views, fine weather and an excellent surface for cycling. We stopped off in Kilmacthomas for coffee at a rival hire centre ,looking up at the impressive viaduct. Here I encountered a problem; with my frantic paced cycling my battery pack "died " .I was in fairness warned it would last the return leg with "easy " usage .When I stopped for the coffee there was approx' half a charge left, great 👍. But after our 30min break it was suddenly down to less than a quarter. I called the depot in the village and asked for a replacement battery, given directions
" over the bridge and down the slip road " and off I went. Fantastic view from the viaduct, found the "slip road " down its steep and windy path only to be back where I'd started ! Confused, phoned back to be told " over the bridge ". By now no power and pushed bike up that hoare of a hill! I'd wasted 50 minutes and now too late to cycle back as Dungarvan depot closed at 6 pm and it was now 5pm. A replacement bike was available but was advised practically impossible to get back in time. So on to the shuttle bus,met John the driver, a very pleasant and friendly man and we chatted the whole way back about our kids and cars.
My negative is why close so early on a fine July evening when it's bright until 10pm? Lots of light left to cycle and would be a fantastic full day's outing for all . Another bonus would be a replacement battery unit to collect at the depots along the route. A simple enough thing to do and would be a massive help for the less fit and older bikers to benefit from full day out.So how about it, hire companies!! It's a truly great attraction, lots of excellent stop offs catering for most beverage, snacks and food needs. My family loved it ,apart from " loosing" me for the return!
Families can avail of " pull alongs " and other family friendly bikes for the younger ones.
Keep alert as some users are very fast and no daydreaming whilst cycling on the busy fine days!!
We'll be back again!🤞👍

Did a fabulous cycle from Waterford city to Kilmeaden and back. The scenery was absolutely glorious. Unfortunately with these Covid restrictions we couldn’t enter the Mount Congreve Gardens from the Greenway entrance (so we did that as a separate trip). My only complaint re the greenway trip related to the bike hire at the Waterford end in that you had to hire the bikes at the Tower Hotel end of the city and get them all the way down to the start of the Greenway and with practically NO cycle path for a lot of that part we had to walk the bikes there being inexperienced cyclists. I recommend a bike hire base start at the start of greenway itself where people park their cars not the opposite end of the city - will do Kilmacthomas next time

A fantastic day out made possible by Waterford Greenway bike hire. Bikes were in excellent condition; comfortable, sturdy and perfect for our needs. Staff couldn't have been more helpful from initial enquiry to final drop off, really impressed with the service and recommended highly.

Had booked two bikes online over a week ahead. Collection was efficient and easy at the depot in Waterford, and clear directions given to get to start of Greenway. We asked for a lock which was provided and bikes were in perfect condition and very comfortable. Weather amazing and thoroughly enjoyed our cycle from Waterford to Dungarvan with a detour to take in a swim at Clonea Strand. Great to see so many families and even very young children enjoying the cycle too. Dropped the bikes off at the depot in Dungarvan and then got the Bus Eireann coach (No. 40) back to Waterford as no shuttle bus currently operating due to Covid. This was flagged at the outset however so was not an issue. Very good service with this company and excellent bikes - a really great day overall.

Excellent and helpful from the start to the finish. I picked up my bike in Waterford and cycled the whole route to Dungarvan. The half way point has a great cafe - super food and great service. At the end of the route I did miss the turning for the shop and had to resort to google maps to help me find the shop! When I dropped the bike off, really helpful directions to where the bus stop back to Waterford could be found. There's two different bus services - one charges 12 euros and the other was significantly cheaper (about 5 if I remember correctly!). There were a few buses listed as due to arrive heading towards Waterford and the one I was on only had a few stops and took about an hour to get back. Well worth the trip. I had emailed the Bike Hire in advance re getting back to Waterford, and again they were really helpful to confirm about the buses.

Great day cycling from Dungarvan to Kilmacthomas - lovely interesting route, v well marked. Booked bikes by phone in advance and the lads sorted us all out with decent bikes. V good experience with Waterford Greenway bike hire We stopped at the first coffee stop (only 4k out). For those travelling with children, there's no refreshments stop then until Kilmacthomas so we pushed them that far (ages 14, 12, 10) and dropped the bikes at the depot there. Unfortunately there's no longer any shuttle or reasonably priced transport service back to Dungarvan. We called a local taxi (arrived promptly in 15 mins). We were prepared to pay for the convenience but we were shocked & disappointed to be charged €50 for a 22km journey that took 20 mins (4 people, I cycled back). This was a disappointing end to an otherwise lovely day. This needs to be revisited as part of the overall bike hire offering to visitors to the Waterford Greenway.

Bike was a shambles.. brakes that didn't work and gears that need indexing REALLY badly. The only thing worst than the bike was the customer service. On dropping the bike back, saying they were disinterested would be a compliment. Really regret not bringing my own bike - having to cycle theirs detracted from the experience and made it far more uncomfortable than it needed to be

Really good, straight forward service. Extremely enjoyable day out. Picked up bikes in Dungarvan (€25 for an adult bike) and cycled to Waterford in about 3.5 hours with a one hour break in Kilmacthomas (left about 11am, arrived in Waterford about 3.15pm).

The Greenway is an old railway line so the inclines are very gentle, no steep hills. Surface is excellent. Lovely views that change regularly along the way.

Staff in the shops were very friendly and sound. Gave good advice on places to stop etc. If you get a puncture they'll pick you up.

The shop's website still has a page referring to mini bus transfers that appears in online searches (but is not linked to on their website). This service no longer exists but it's very straight forward to get the public bus (€5) back so you only have to cycle one way. It takes about an hour and runs every hour from Waterford bus station which is very close to their shop.

Waterford City is nice and has come on hugely in the last 10 years. It's much smaller and not as vibrant or interesting as Cork, but there are a few nice cafés and bars to sit outside and contemplate your achievement. Highligh recommended.

Highly recommend Waterford Greenway Bike Hire, I hired an electric bike and my daughter hired a standard bike and we cycled 46kms along the beautiful greenway - being able to pick up and drop off at different depots was brilliant. Staff were lovely to deal with both in person and over the phone. Lovely way to spend a summers day.

I hired an electric bike to cycle from Dungarvan to Waterford City. I had done my research before I booked so I knew that this was the only Greenway bike hire company which provided the option of cycling the full route and leaving the bike at the end in Waterford City. Despite what's advertised none of the companies provide a bus shuttle service for return journeys but you can get the 'Cork' Bus Eireann bus back to Dungarvan. I found this company helpful and easy to deal with, they offered me a helmet, lock and bungy strap to secure my bag. They also provided me with advice on where to stop to eat/toilets etc along the route. While it was nice to cycle into the City, there is a short section where there is roadworks and you need to walk the bike inside cones along a busy road. Also while there is a space to park your bike at Mount Congrieve Gardens there is nothing to lock them too so I didn't feel comfortable leaving the bike unattended at this location.
