Upon arrival after a difficult time finding it (poorly marked) and a rather curt welcome from someone who roared up to us as we walked towards the door, we were finally shown the way to sig up for the tour. There are no signs so we can hardly be faulted for wandering around trying to find our way. After that... More

A magnificent visit to Curraghmore House & Gardens it is Waterford's hidden gem. You can just attend the gardens but I would recommend you take the tour of this wonderful house also. We arrived at Curraghmore House just in time for the tour, at first it looked like we were visiting a relic of a house however once inside we were pleasantly surprised to find rich history, fantastic treasures and tales of a great family. Our guide, Basil, was friendly and knowledgable (and very forgiving of the fact we only had english... More

Having read glowing reviews about Curraghmore House I was determined to put it on our to do list on our recent holiday to Waterford. As a family we like to tour historic properties/stately homes but on this occasion we should have given it a miss!!! There are only 2 tours of the house available, 11am & 2pm. We were charged... I spent a great few hours here. I loved the house, the fact it is still lived in by the family, so the contents are all authentic and original to the house. The guide was terrific and full of interesting historical details and stories which I love. The grounds are great too, and the scones and cream were very nice!

Yesterday I brought my walking group to Curraghmore, and everyone was absolutely blown away, as I knew they would be. This wonderful estate is a living museum of a way of life that is largely gone. The big house (still a family home) the courtyard, outbuildings, farm, gardens - all on a huge scale and beautiful. We had a walk... More

Fabulous old house. Incredible history, basil the tour guide is extremely knowledgeable of the history of the house and the beautiful art within, also amazing shell house on the grounds that must be seen to be believed. All in all and excellent day out on a fantastic estate.

Highly recommended. The set up is different, the place fumes of luxury, and a bit mysterious is my opinion. The visit to the gardens costs 4e and they have a box for you to deposit. The house was closed when we went but i am sure ill go back. There's a little house in the woods that reminds me of... More

I was at Curraghmore House for a horse riding festival, while I did not visit inside the house the grounds were fantastic. There was something about the place that I found special and a jazz band played beautiful music out side the front door of the house. This is a place I will go back to visit and explore in... More
