Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

20 min drive from Dungarvan...definitely worth the visit for the views, fresh air and water falls. Nice little walk from car park to viewing Area.

We drove down here from Kilkenny where we were staying. Fantastic scenery! Paved walkway to the base of the falls, not a long walk. Probably only saw 5-6 other people the day of our visit. It was chilly with a stiff breeze (dress warmly), but the numerous waterfalls in this glacial cirque and the play of sun and clouds on the valley walls made for a memorable fall afternoon.

If you are in this area it is well worth the visit, take good hiking shoes and enjoy the climb. some great pools of water. walk from carpark is long with slight hills, apart from that if you are a little slow on feet you should still be able to see the waterfall.

Beautiful place, it is about a 15 minute walk from the car park to the falls. We hiked on up and swam in a beautiful pool, the scenery was just breathtaking. You will need good footwear for the hike. Well worth the visit.

As we were close by we decided to take a look at the Mahon Falls. As you near the parking area (which has limited spaces) the road narrows quite a bit. Then there's around a 15 minute walk to get to the falls. It had been fairly dry when we were there but there was still quite a flow. If you're feeling adventurous you can get to the top reasonably well if you're fit & have a bit of experience, as an accident out here would be very difficult to deal with! There was quite a few people there on the day & we noted several people (unbelievably) trying to pass each other on the climb, which was really quite dangerous, so not for the fainthearted. You can view the falls very easily without having to get to the top & it's surrounded by lovely countryside.

Road up to the falls is narrow and tight. Lots of sheep on the mountain. Views from the top are excellent. Falls not that special. Recommended as nice walk.

The road leading to Mahon Falls is typically Irish: you desperately hope you don't meet anyone coming down the road towards you because it's so narrow!!

The view is literally enough to turn an atheist agnostic. The Comeragh mountain tops are so high that the iuds were hiding them. There isn't a photograph that can do justice to the beauty and peace of the area.

Some facts:

1) There is structured, free parking for visitors
2) Entry is free
3) It's in the mode of nowhere, so there's no toilets at the place
4) The pathway from the parking to the falls is longish, and very well maintained. Mostly wheelchair accessible
5) You can walk up the side of the falls too if you're fit and adventurous enough
6) There are lots of goats, and they leave lots of droppings all over the pathway
7) There's a bit of litter around as there're no dustbins anywhere. So if you're the litter pick up types, remember your picker, gloves and rubbish bag (to help people who's mammy didn't raise them right)
