Myself and 9 of my close friends were lucky enough to secure a booking with William and Barry for a guided SUP tour down the river Bonnet to the mouth of the river, where it meets the ajoining Lough Gill and the spectacular views of Parkes Castle on the lake.
It really was a tour we will never forget. We were thoroughly advised on all Covid regulations beforehand and this gave us confidence in the lads right away .
Both instructors had extensive knowledge of surrounding area, the lake, the Islands, their history, and the associated mythology. After a nice paddle we arrived to a small island where they had set up a "campfire" with coffee, hot chocolate and giant marshmallows for toasting.
All in all it was a fantastic experience and even though my entire group are residents of Sligo, it was fantastic to experience it from a completely different perspective .

Have completed a number of outings with North West Adventures in the last couple of years most recently we hiked up Benbulben in Co Sligo. This was one of the best things ive done in a long time especially as these trips are right on my doorstep. We hiked with William and he was very knowledgeable about the area and we felt very safe going about our climb. I would highly recommend booking a trip with the guys as they offer a range of different activities to cater for all the family.

I've had a few adventures with North West Adventures, they never dissapoint. I got to experience places in Sligo and Leitrim I never knew existed.
A great team, well organised and full of local knowledge and tales. They can cater for all fitness levels and experienced or first time hikers and there may be an occasional tea or coffee stop on there hike 😊
Also recommend SUP and some cycles for nice relaxing days out.

Myself and four friends booked a guided hike with Northwest Adventure Tours last September and they couldn’t have been better.
Received a detailed email explaining COVID regulations beforehand which put our minds at ease.
Our guide Barry had such in-depth knowledge of Benbulben, the best route, it’s geology (explained in a conversational way, not boring) and gave us some tips on where to go on our next hike.
We even got to stop for coffee in a cave and got to take our time taking in the views.
So professional, but also friendly in approach and just overall a top-class experience.

Paddle boarding with William and his team (Barry & Jack) along the river bonnet on Saturday the 5th of June 2021. What a why to spend the afternoon. Fab instructors who were patient kind and made sure everyone was safe and felt comfortable all the time. Great information about the local area and a break for a cuppa tea and treats beside a camp fire on the river bank. Highly recommend north west adventure tours very professional company. We were a party of 5 on the water doing the activity and 2 of our group had a lovely hike down to meet us for the cuppa with William so everyone was catered for. We will be using this company again. Thank you William

I recently took part in a night hike to Cairns Wood, which North West Adventure Tours were delivering as part of 'Her Outdoors Week'. Our guides, William and Barry were very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out various points of interest along the way. They were mindful of the safety of the group and made sure that the pace of the hike allowed all group participants to complete the trek with ease. The hot chocolate and marshmallows were also delicious! I would recommend North West Adventure Tours to anyone considering booking a hiking, biking or SUP'ing tour in Sligo.

I’ve been lucky enough to do the free diving course with William and the crew at Northwest Adventures. Amazing course and so well run. William took his time to start at the very beginning and led us through all the different stages of the breath holding and diving aspects all the while teaching us the all important safety aspects. We all at least doubled our breath holding in just one day! So awesome, can’t recommend William and the crew enough 🙌👌

5* Service in SUP. 5* Summer Camps. William and Barry are fantastic with my boys. Hours of activities, hours of fun and safety always in place. My boys love love a day out with NW Adventures Tours. From 10 to 16 years of age, activities to keep them all happy. Love the knowledge of local area which they are teaching a next generation as well as respect and care for the local environment

Benbulben hike. We were a party of 7, mixed ages and guided by Barry of North West Adventure tours. We probably wouldn’t have tackled it without a guide. It was an amazing experience, the ascent was misty and an enjoyable challenge. On top the mist lifted and opened up to spectacular views. The mist and the experience of it lifting so dramatically was incredible. Barry was very knowledgeable on the ecology and geology of the area and a very nice person to spend time with. He paced it well for our group. A top notch recommendation and a big thank you.
