Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic pints, comfortable chairs, great professional run bar.
A great place to spend a afternoon or two.

If you're irish and white this is the place for you otherwise go somewhere else all you'll get are racist remarks. Seriously go somewhere else. Enjoy.

Was in Sligo the last weekend in january staying in the Sligo City Hotel. Just across the street is the Harp Tavern. Went in for a drink during the day on Saturday and saw there was a band on that night called The Quay Street Band. The entertainment at the hotel was cancelled so we thought we would try the Harp Tavern. We definitely made the right choice. The band was brilliant and played our kind of music. The people were very friendly and made us very welcome. It makes a great change to see a bar with people of our age group (early sixties) instead of only young people. We very impressed with the staff who knew everyone and were very friendly. I have to mention I think the manager Ann? Despite the fact that we were first time visitors to the bar when my husband went up for more drinks she had them ready on the bar. Very impressive. We will definitely visit again the next time we visit Sligo.

Group of 12 in Sligo for the weekend and visited the Harp Tavern. Had a mighty night with the locals and the classic 80's music provided by the Band. Eugene the bar man was so helpful and appreciative of us calling in. Definitely recommend this pub for friendliness and good craic!!
