This location is beautiful. We have traveled to many of the sacred places in Ireland and I truly felt a sense of peace while walking the stations at this Holy Well. It is steeped in history and worth reading about before going so you get a good understanding of what this place has meant to so many people. The signs... More

A lovely woman I was staying with brought me here. It was her special place even though she was not religious. She said no one ever really goes there. It is a beautiful little stream and hedge with a few religious statues. It is a spiritual place with calmness. However, a huge bus arrived 10 minutes after us. My new... More

If you are religious in anyway this a site is worth a visit. It is not too tacky. It made me smile! You are advised not to drink the water, unless you want to meet your maker.

Growing up in Sligo, this was a place that we frequently visited and even then it had a magical feeling, a feeling of entering a different time .Now returning as a adult I was happy to see the place is basically the same , some extra seating and perhaps better tended pathways , a credit to the local community. In... More

No visit is ever the same apart from the serene peacefulness and lightness of feeling when leaving :) many locals swear by the power of prayer from this place! A definite visit for anyone coming to Sligo.

The Holywell is only minutes from Sligo town and a few short minutes stroll to the beautiful Lough Gill . This is such a beautiful peaceful place with loads of history a place for time out and reflection.

Truly holy site and gardens. Nice sculpture work historically a gathering place for mass when it was outlawed and forbidden. Small creek runs through flowing water is nice background site and sound. Not busy and stations of the cross are artistic and mixed into the gardens and trees.

I have been to a lot of places but this is the most serene and peaceful place I have ever been. So very moving and uplifting that even an atheist could not help but question their beliefs or lack of them. I am a religious person and this place just reaffirmed my beliefs. Wonderful, simply wonderful

If you are in the area take the time to visit this special sanctuary and take time to sit and listen to the silence in the presence of Our Holy Mother. You will be struck by the peace and tranquility and beauty of the shrine.
