Very beautiful area

Lovely drive, very beautiful as there was some snow capped mountains in the background. The Glencar waterfall is well worth a visit.

Few words can describe the beauty of this location. We visited on a crisp, bright November day. Seldom have I experienced such beautiful scenery. Totally recommend a visit.

More than just a waterfall The drive out to Glencar waterfall is hard to put into words, its breath taking and stunning all at the same time. It was quite an overcast July day but the shadows on the lake were out of this world. The walk up to the waterfall is short and doesn’t really take that long, but... More

A much improved place to visit, since the opening of the tea shed cafe, with a selection of food to order, cakes and a great selection of food. The spacious car parking and recent additions of a boat trip on the lake or a horse drawn carriage around the lake, make it well worth a visit. The waterfall is easily... More

We drove up to see this stunning place just as the sun was setting (only time we could add it in). So glad we did. Sun glinting off the water, rich greens on the surrounding hillsides, a thought of the Yeats brothers passing by added to the atmosphere. Certainly worth the trip down yet another narrow road if you are... More

Glencar Lake is exactly as described. It's a lake. Is has water; it has some boats; it has some water plants; it has some lovely mountains as backdrops; it has some nearby waterfalls. In the end, though, it's a lake.

I have driven from Sligo to Enniskillen and vice versa many times past Glencar, and always admired the beautiful scenery, without leaving the main road. While I also admired the scenery during the trip to the lake and up again, and the waterfall itself, it is really a rather small waterfall compared to others I have visited. Nevertheless an enjoyable... More
