Built on an old site, this new tour specific built building is neat, but it's new. The tour was informative and the guide was very good but I could care less about walking around a very small building built 3 years ago to give tours.

Sorry - we drove from Sligo, not Dublin - can only suggest trying google maps for directions from Dublin - there are day trips from Dublin with various tour companies, if you don't have a car.

Don't know anything about staying in Tullamore. You could visit en route to the West but it is only about one third of the distance to Inishboffin.
