Extremely enjoyable
Jul 2021
Visited Hill of Tara, Co. Meath yesterday, 28th July with Bespoke bills and treks
Our guide was Paul Quinn and we spent a very enjoyable 2.5 hours in his company
This site contains contains the largest complex of Celtic monuments in Europe
142 high kings of Ireland were coordinated here
Paul Quinn unique descriptions of the stories and history of the site, fired up our imagination and we could nearly visualize it
Afterwards as a bonus, he brought us along to the nearby Bective Abbey, the second Cisterican Abbey founded in 1147, which includes a 13th century church, a 15th century
Cloister and a 16th century tower. A visit not to be missed

nice walk and a bit of history
Aug 2020
nice day out and a legend to boot......you can park easily and there is no admission fee. you walk around the back of the church to find the site which is underwhelming on it own but put into context is still worth a visit

Visit to the Hill of Tara
Jul 2021 • Couples
Myself and my husband visited the hill of Tara recently and loved our visit. The visitors center was closed due to restrictions but the site is steeped in history and the views were beautiful.

Mysterious Ireland
Nov 2020 • Family
Nice to be in some places that are associated with Irish ancient legends and mysteries, to touch to Irish history. Unfortunately it is not the place high enough to enjoy the Hills of Tara from above.

Great day out

Great day out!
Very easy & effortless day out. Nice for a nice day just to leisurely walk around and take in the view & the forts. Cute little shops & cafe there to make a full day out. Just off the main road & easy to get to.

Beautiful Royal Site
Aug 2020
Tara is one of the great Royal Sites in Ireland, it is always well worth a visit. The archaeological remains are very impressive and the freedom given to visitors is wonderful.
There were no guided tours because of Covid 19 but even without the benefit of a guide the site is hugely impressive.
A wonderful place for families to enjoy the great outdoors with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
LIght refreshments were available on site - what more could one ask for.

Bit disappointing
Aug 2020 • Family
From a historic perspective I'm sure the site has significance, but from my own I wasn't impressed. The Ariel pics of the site are impressive, but to actually be on the site it resembles a badly maintained golf course. Positives are that it is quite a good view from an elevated site, there were families picnicking in spots, and the church looked impressive, though currently closed. Nice place adjoining for food also.

The site is really beautiful but the center does not open until May and it is hard to wander around.

The best day of my trip!
Feb 2020
Mary is a real treasure of knowledge! Precise, gradually informing you on the differents steps of the irland History and the unbelievable golden past of the country. She has a sens of humour to de-dramatise . Tara place is respectfull place, and well present to feel so thankfull to the ancestors! New Grange was for me an eye opener! that I continue, thaks to Mary's suggestions, to complete with a visit to the Irish Museum and the wonderfull collection of the Golden age 3.000 years ago! I strongly recommend her and the friendly driver that I have met both of them are proud of their origins and passionated . Thank a lot friends, I will come back and explore with you other places!
