I'd read up on the strategies of the Battle of the Boyne from the web site before visiting so I'd have a better understanding of the battle field - and the display and AV were excellent- very informative. The grounds were lovely and we took a walk along the canal and river. Thought provoking to think how this small part... More

Visited here between showers. Free to use park and walk around gardens. Had coffee in the pavilion good for teas coffees and treats ...not so sure about savoury options. Pavilion overlooks a formal walled garden. With another hidden garden within. All in all peaceful place suitable for all ages which belies its battlefield past. Impressive entrance driveway house and gardens.... More

How wonderful to be able to visit the site of the famous Battle of the Boyne. The visitor centre is extremely informative and interesting. A visit to the super cafe is a must; sitting outside on a lovely sunny day overlooking the beautiful walled garden was a bonus. Take a walk around the garden to really appreciate it.

This is a wonderful place to visit. The location is breathtaking but the docents in the house were incredibly knowledgeable. A great day out. If you get tired walking around there is a great café there.

This was a great surprise to me! I thought the visitor center was very informative and gave great information. The docents were very helpful and I learned a lot. This whole area is loaded with sites to see. Nice grounds, park as well, next to the river as well.

A visit to this very interesting and educational facility having beautiful gardens and a good tearoom is well worthwhile. It is also inexpensive but very well presented

A great place to visit, lose yourself and relax. Very informative tour and extensive walking areas. Nice light and open cafe attached within the house garden area. Lovely place for tea and homemade cake. A bit of research beforehand might help you understand the importance of the site to Irish history.

I first visited last year and it was a great tour everyone there loved it all. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Today we had another visit and looked really forward to it. We actually got to see a lot more of the grounds that are stunning. The weather was beautiful so walking around the grounds was so lovely.... More

This was highly informative about the Battle of the Boyne with informative and moving displays. Tragic loss of life. Was in 1690 but historically very significant. Brings up to current day, with the long sanding issues with Borthern Ireland. (History of William of Orange and Protestsnt settlers brought into the area) very well done, especially the movie!
