An often mentioned event in both the north and south - what happened and where, splendidly explained. Plentiful free parking, and free access to the parkland; for a few euros, visit the house and see the detailed presentation to the events of the pre- battle, battle and post battle positions. Very interesting - lovely walled gardens and cafe to round... More

Here we were able to see a live musket demonstration. We also learned the history of the final battle between James II and William and Mary. There were beautiful walled gardens in the back of the estate also. Worth talking a walk through them.

A wet dinghy day brightened up by extremely hospitable staff. Great food, a little pricey but can outweighed by the service.

Spend about 2 hours at the centre.Very interesting&informative.Good mixture of video,Costumes, artillery&written material about the battle. Also info about the actual house that the museum is in as well.Weather was fabulous so it was lovely to walk round gardens as well.Entrance for gardens-free.€4 for an adult into museum, very reasonable.Although cafe was expensive.

Visited on 12th July with my teenage daughter. We spent the day learning about the history of the Battle of the Boyne. The gardens were beautiful and very well tended. We took our dog and had a great walk around the estate. Had a lovely lunch in the tearoom and bought some jam and a pen from the visitors shop.... More

Attractive and clean restaurant/cafe. Great coffee, decaf tea and coffee available. Super lattes. Try the boiled cake, beautifully moist. Oldbridge house is now a museum with an excellent active display of the disbursement of troops, Original cannon, pikes and armour are displayed. The walled garden is particularly attractive. Unless in bright sunshine, bring a brolly of light rain jacket. Overall... More

This is a great place to visit for anyone who is a fan of military history. You get to go through a part of the first floor of the house which has been converted into a museum. On Sundays they have living history figures every hour in front of the house. When I went there was an infantryman who did... More
