See above, sunny weather was an optional good feature. If a walk is needed, the site is OK. (We did not need it)

There is a bit of everything at the Oldbridge estate, just outside Drogheda. There are a series of lovely walks starting from Oldbridge house that show you where the main events in the battle took place. These are free and it seemed a lot of locals used it for walking their dogs. The house itself has been beautifully restored and... More

En route across Ireland we stumbled upon the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre at Oldridge. Gerry the Guide was an encylopedia of knowledge and would definitely be my "phone a friend" on who wants to be a millionaire!. He patiently talked us through the history and all the kings / pretenders and usurpers that made up that fascinating period... More

The Boyne valley is a beautiful estate, magnificent scenery with amazing history. We enjoyed the tour and the visitors centre staff were extremely pleasant. I would recommend this attraction to anyone as it is in my eyes one of the top ten attractions in Ireland. Now for the BUT- The tea room which is a franchise was beyond a joke... More

We loved this attraction. The museum was very well done, and the re-enactors were wonderful. They had a nice tea room too, for lunch

I have visited this Centre on a number of occasions now, and for anyone with an interest in the history of Ireland, I can highly recommend a visit. The old house has now been totally refurbished and houses a visitors centre. For a nominal fee you can visit and learn all about the battle of the boyne, the history of... More

Visited here on Sat 22nd March. A little difficult to find but a great site nonetheless, took one of the walks and afterwards took the tour. Best part of the tour was the laser dispaly. Cannons and battle memorabilia on display and a short av presentation. Was cool. Visited the cafe which is beside the tour. What a wonderful place... More

On a recent drive to Dundalk, we decided to drive out to Oldbridge, the site of the historic Battle of the Boyne. The imposing Oldbridge House has been renovated and turned into an interpretive centre. There are some displays inside the house of 17th century weaponry, a 3 -D model of the site, which gives a great overview of the... More
