This is the sort of battle site which has been thoughtfully laid out. It was a perfect visit for us. The battle site itself was superbly laid out; the walled garden excellent and the refreshment room of a high standard. Well worth a visit.

This is a great stop on the way from Dublin to Belfast. The site is lovely and the staff are friendly and informative. It was interesting to learn about the battle history. There is a film and some indoor and outdoor exhibits. Lovely grounds to stretch your legs. We only spent an hour at the site and it was well... More

Oldbridge Estate is a really great option if you're searching for something to do at the weekend. The grounds are beautiful and offer walks, at various lengths, none of which are difficult. The house itself offers a short but informative exhibition for a small fee. The garden is brilliantly well kept and definitely worth visiting, it's not open late so... More

The Oldbridge Estate has been turned into an excellent point from which to explore the rich history and scenery of the area. The exhibition housed in the mansion is an excellent resource to stimulate interest in a hugely important but often poorly explained event that still affects Ireland and the UK today. The gardens and outbuildings have been lovingly treated... More

Made a quick visit here, should've planned things better. The estate is beautifully kept and gardens great for walks/picnics. The exhibition is really good particularly the audiovisual and the battlefield layout (an example of poor Jacobite miltary planning - repeated years later at Culloden!) with movements of troops really helpful. Probably one of the best put together exhibitions of its... More

I went with two American friends, we all loved it. The gardens are restored to a very high level. One thing we all agreed was that they must, must, must restore more of the house, it would be the icing on the cake!

Really enjoyed this experience. The history of the battle is very well described in the Oldbridge house exhibition, with good audiovisual facilities. The museum also contains some artefacts including cannons. The gardens were a true joy to stroll around... Beautifully maintained, and extremely peaceful. The tea room overlooked the gardens, and contained an excellent selection of food/drink. Would thoroughly recommend... More

This is very visual and informative. The displays and mock ups are varied and keep your interest. Loved the gardens too and make sure you visit the cafe. Delicious scones! (Watch out for wasps..got a pretty viscious sting!)
