Well worth a visit

Lovely walks and seemed very safe for small children. The grounds are stunning Did not see the interior of the house during this visit so cannot comment on it.

I was really looking forward to seeing Westport house but I firstly found it expensive for what it was and I also thought that such things as the Dungeons and the plastic swans on the lake were tacky and really took from the splendour of the house. The house itself is nice but it is not fantastic and I absolutely... More

Lovely walk around Westport House grounds & Gardens in early April ( prior to Easter , when it officially opens for business. There is an unmanned "honesty " box at each gate for contributions.Normal charge is €13 for an adult and €22 to include guided tour. Lots of maintenance work and visitor development could be developed with new owners (Hughes... More

we was staying at hotel westport and they arranged a trip around the town on a road train and a house tour,, it is a fantastic place to visit, lots of beautiful things to see, even dungeons,, but also the history of how the family helped during the time of the famine,,, fabulous,, well worth a visit.

Westport house is a hidden gem. Located in a quaint little town, this house is a great stop. It has 30 rooms to explore with wonderful decor and history. Highly recommend for anyone wishing to see the interior of an old fashioned ornate house. The grounds were also beautiful even in March!
