My wife and I visited Westport in July for a short break. A few days before going I searched "things to do in Westport" and found reviews on tripadvisor for Electric Escapes. We are far from accomplished cyclists but this sounded like an opportunity to experience something different.
We contacted Paul on arrival and, after a reassuring explanation that my lack of cycling prowess wouldn't present a problem, we booked to go on the Bangor Trail. Having climbed Croagh Patrick on the previous day, we woke up with slightly aching limbs wondering about the wisdom of our decision to spend a day cycling. Paul arrived at our hotel to collect us and drove us to the starting point of the cycle tour. On the way he stopped to identify local places of interest and explained some of the history of the area would be travelling through.
We set off with a picnic of coffee, muffins, croissants and bottled water which we enjoyed beside the lake at the salmon fishery. Paul met as along the route at various points and, at one particularly beautiful spot, he had laid out a wonderful lunch complete with wine, coffee, smoked salmon cheese and fresh fruit. We sat looking over the wonderful scenery enjoying a tranquility broken only by the sounds of nature.
Our particular Electric Escape was a wonderful highlight of our trip and one we hope to repeat on future trips to the area.

What a fantastic day we had! Paul is a ray of sun shine! There were 11 of us, some were dubious about the cycle but all said it was the best hen activity they ever had. We enjoyed a fabulous picnic of local foods before setting off on the scenic cycle, it was a great way to get to know all of the girls and with Paul meeting us every 5km with wine, champagne & water the cycle was a pleasure. Jewelry making that evening with more delicious food was the icing on the cake. Good luck to Paul in his venture.. one of Ireland's treasures... he deserves it.

This is a bespoke traffic free cycle way along the Irish coast . Stunning scenery , a few hills some of them testing. You hire your bike for as long as you want to ride and there are various options to be picked along the way 😣🚴we did the whole route which was 42k

This was the highlight of our trip to Mayo. Paul and Fiona were fantastic, the bikes were easy to use and very helpful on the steep hills of Mayo. The scenery cannot be beat and even my 2 year old daughter (mostly) enjoyed riding on the back of my bike. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

We had a brilliant day with Electric Escapes. Paul picked us up and brought a bike each for us. He suggested this beautiful, scenic route, which involved a long, steep climb up one side of a mountain, with a glorious downhill treat on the other. We cycled effortlessly up the Sheefry Pass, thanks to our Kalkhoff E bikes and coasted down the other side enjoying splendid views all the way!
I recommend Electric Escapes to everyone, young and old, fit or not! Paul will tailor a trip to suit one and all.

Paul met myself and my new bride at our B&B in Westport for what turned out to be one of the best experiences of our Irish honeymoon. We had great conversations about the history, culture, flora and geology of the landscape we cycled over- starting in the forests of the Bangor Trail about 5km north of Loch Feeagh, a coffee and biscuit stop above an ancient peninsula fort, then past the beautiful drumlin fields of Newport Bay, on to Rockfleet Castle, an early dinner stop at Brendan's well for fresh-cooked Clew Bay mussels and smoked salmon and finally ending in Mulrany with a pub stop above scenic Clew Bay. WOW!! Paul outdid himself on an untypically warm and cloudless Irish summer day. And then he gave us a backroads tour to Westport, including a visit to an old abbey and some wild stained glass church windows in Newport before dropping us off at the B&B. He later emailed us some great photos he had taken on the trip. The bikes were easy to ride and helped on the hills. I am considering buying one later this year. I had great hopes for Electric Escapes and Paul came through with a memorable day in a very special week.

Our family spent 4 days in the West Mayo area, but our leisurely cycle on the Great Western Greenway was everybody's favourite! The electric bikes made it feel like we were cheating! Our kids had the best fun ever, topped off with Paul's extra touch of "pirate treasure" at the end of the trail. We'll be going back to do another trail ASAP!

Paul met me with great enthusiasm and we had a great day out. Paul and his team were very helpful and managed to let me experience a bit on my own to get to know that part of the country and to be able to explore the area. If you are looking for an easy way to bike around Ireland in whatever area you choose, Electric Escapes allows you to do so without panic of what to expect on the roads in Ireland, with great help along the way and the comfort of knowing you have back up if you need it. I would recommend them for a great biking holiday in Ireland. It's a custom adventure and the wildness of Ireland can truly be experienced in Westport and beyond. If you have questions please don't hesitate and feel free to ask me first hand.

Last week myself, my husband and my 2 year old twins boys had a fantastic memorable day on the Greenway. Paul from Electric Escapes picked us up at the hotel in Westport and took us to Newport, he set up on his electric bikes and sent us off. It was a magical experience one we will never forget!! Paul collected us at Mulranny later that afternoon and took us safely home to the hotel. Paul is a pleasure to deal with and an absolute fountain of knowlegde. It was the best family holiday we have had and we'll be back.
