I visited the National Park recently during a trip to Belmullet. It was a wonderful experience. It’s a place to go back to as there are different walks you can do of varying distances. Our first walk was around the visitors centre which takes you...More

Visited on a windy and showery day, so raced around the walk which gives very good views of the area, including Achill Island. Then visited the exhibition, which is very well presented giving a lot of local information, followed by a break in the cafeteria,...More

For a free attraction, this is brilliant. The information centre was very interesting and the short walk was quite scenic

I was in the area and keen to visit this place. The building itself is stark and does not fit in with the landscape; when I first saw it from afar I thought it must be some light industry wrongly allowed. Inside, lovely and a...More

Visited here on a roadtrip with friends. The centre is easy to locate and includes a nice cafe upstairs with excellent views of the national park. We had nice coffee and cake here but the menu is small. We did a small stroll (30 mins)...More

The visitors centre was excellent, especially the Ginger and Wild Café, but the park itself was beautiful. We didn’t walk very far from the visitors centre but in a short time we enjoyed stunning views and beautiful flowers.

Ballycroy is a beautiful park, with great trails across mountain and bog. The park has some very accessible walks too for short trips, day or night. The visitor centre and exhibition are a must-see, the staff are excellent with lots of information about this part...More

Plenty to see and learn. Views are really worth the walk. The walkway provides a clean walking surface across the grass but the hardcore surface elsewhere provide easy walking.

My understanding is, as noted by others, that dogs on leash are fine. No signs saying otherwise. Also, we met a village dog named "Fluffy" on the walk - by himself. An employee at the visitor's center says that Fluffy lives... More

Yes, as it's just off the main road, there is no access gate as such to pass through, which makes it all the wilder & more interesting! Enjoy!

I don'the think so but they probably could do some identification for you. Do get there and you will get a warm welcome which I am sure will fit into your schedule of memories.
