Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We pop in here for a quick lunch. The menu limited to sandwiches & wraps.
However our sandwiches were fresh. It was quite busy when we arrived; which shows it popular.
The server noticed he made a mistake with our order but corrected without a problem. (Probably would have been better to correct it before expecting us to accept the mistake.) When he brought the order over he knew it was wrong.

Last night at the Linenhall, Castlebar, we were blown away by a stunning Far Flung Trio concert. Perfectly suited to this intimate venue, an unforgettable night of music by three of Ireland's finest musicians in any genre (violin - Katherine Hunka, accordion - Dermot Dunne, double bass - Malachy Robinson). The music ranged from Corelli to Brazilian choros, Rossini to klezmer. Full marks to the Linenhall for hosting. It's a long time since I shouted and whistled at the end of a concert. A fabulous niught in a great venue.

Although regular visitors to Mayo, we'd never actually found time to visit the Linenhall until we spotted a poster for a gig by local band Vickers Vimy and dropped in to buy advance tickets. The set-up is informal but well organised - a pleasant cafe area (that's good value, too), two exhibition spaces including the light, spacious former assembly room where General Humbert held a celebratory ball after his victory over the Anglo-Irish force in August 1798 and declaration of the short-lived Republic of Connacht, and a compact but well equipped performance space converted from the Georgian linen warehouse itself. This has a surprisingly good acoustic and comfortable theatre-style seating.
We managed to take in both an exhibition opening night (thought-provoking sculptural installations by Northern Irish artist Erin Hagan) and the thoroughly entertaining gig by Vickers Vimy - excellent musicians all, with an original line in songwriting. The staff we met were very friendly, helpful and passionate about the place and its contribution to the arts scene in the western counties, and we felt welcomed. We'll definitely be returning to the Linenhall on a future visit.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and positive review. We love our cozy and intimate theatre space, and lots of visiting musicians have commented on the good quality of the acoustics. It also allows an 'up close and personal' experience, which always goes down well with both audiences and performers. We're delighted you had such a positive experience on your visit, and we look forward to seeing you again!

The Linenhall is a great space, I visit often, with an open atmosphere and friendly staff. Their programme never disappoints, varied and diverse, there really is something for everyone! The cafe has a good selection, the only downside is there is no wifi...but it could be seen as a positive- helping you to focus on the exhibitions/theatre/film etc.

Our whole Ireland trip was based on seeing a band here and we weren't disappointed. The staff at the Linen Hall couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed, it was well organised and had a good buzz about it. We didn't try the cafe but it was busy and the food looked really good. Seating in the venue had lots of leg room so we could stomp our feet all we wanted - bit of a numb bum by the end of the evening but it was a brilliant night and I'd recommend the Linen Hall if you like smaller, more informal venues, without them being too intimate or impersonal.
