The stained glass is nice. Architecture is pleasant. But the mummified head is the star attraction. Some good history here.

St Peters is a wonderful piece of history and is the main attraction for me in Drogheda. I find the place very spiritual and calming.

I felt uncomfortable entering the church - they don't seem to welcome tourists. For example, signs out front informed me I couldn't use my mobile phone inside.

We came here for a visit with the CIE Tour. We did a walking tour of Drogheda. One of the stops was this Church. It is a great place to visit. The church is beautiful and there is a lot of history there. We were very glad that our guide took us for a visit. Must see when you are... More

Not many people know that the Archbishop of Armagh opened the Holy Door of Mercy at St Peter`s Church, West St, Drogheda. This is for the Year of Mercy and because this Church is the Memorial Church of St Oliver Plunkett, patron of peace, reconciliation and forgiveness. The National Shrine of St Oliver is here. Worth a visit - and... More

If you are visiting Drogheda and have the time, stop by St. Peter's on West St. in Drogheda. It is a very nice church with a bit of historical interest and some interesting relics. My little man (5-y.o.) loves to go there and sit by the side altar and just enjoy the quiet.. Strange for me, as we are not... More

An amazing Church, very very beautiful inside, my iPhone must have been broken because the facial recognition didn't work when trying to take a photo of St Oliver Plunkett's head. Never in my life would in have thought I'd every see the preserved head of a saint! Guess I can tick that off the bucket list.

This church is in the middle of Drogheda on a busy street. This imposing building houses one unusual thing, that the head of St. Oliver Plunkett held in a shrine. Interior of the church is very impressive with stained glass windows, statues and huge tall ceiling. When I saw the preserved head felt very very sad. Can feel the pain... More
