Beaulieu is a C17th unfortified house, built by the Titchburnes and still lived in by descendants of this family. 400 years of family history entwine with local historical events, including the Flight of the Earls, the Siege of Drogheda and the Battle of the Boyne. A walled garden, with borders and symmetrical gravel paths, dating from the early C18th, is especially lovely to walk round May-September.

We visited this House in 2015. Lovely trip there via coast road from Annagassan to Clogherhead. Interesting to see the old Viva rally car ! The tour of the house was interesting but was all about the family and I got a bit confused with all the names !! Great old paintings of the area especially Drogheda. Lovely friendly whippet... Overlooking the river Boyne this fine old house has been in the same family for generations, each of which has left its mark on the property. I visited the gardens several years ago when Mrs Sydney Waddington was in charge and fell in love with the garden then and it is still a lovely place to visit.

We discovered this location quite by accident, as many people seem to do. We took the house tour (10 Euros) that lasted well over an hour - the tour guide is exceptioanlly knowledgeable, every painting has a history and is relevant. Unlike some old houses (Beaulieu is a late 17th C early 18th C house on the site of a... More

Stumbled across this house on TripAdvisor and we decided to drive the 15 minutes to visit. What a surprise. Such a lovely location and really great story behind the house. We took our 9 year old and 7 year old and they are still talking about it. Highly recommend.

I visited Beaulieu this morning with two friends. We were brought on an excellent tour by our brilliant guide Noel. He is very knowledgable and has a genuine interest in the house and surrounding area. The gardens were lovely and there are lovely views from the house and garden. It is definitely a hidden gem.

This year vantastival was located below Beaulieu house, a fabulous setting for a fantastic weekend of music and family fun. while we were there we took part in a tour of the house guided by the house's owner a wonderful and very welcoming lady who captivated our imagination with the history of the house and area.

Beaulieu has the most beautiful gardens overlooking the Boyne! I have painted there and am always very welcome.

On a hill above the River Boyne, this is the oldest unfortified house in Ireland and is still occupied by the family - the 11th generation - so not all the house can be visited. The guide is splendid, knowledgeable and entertaining. The house and family have a fascinating history; the gardens are quite extensive, beautifully maintained and just lovely.... More
