About
As the fee includes a personally guided tour and refreshments in the pagoda beside the Water Garden, entrance is, naturally, by advance booking only. Coolwater, on half an acre, steps to the beat of a different drum with its breathtaking Water Garden, troughs chockerblock with choice Alpine plants and distinctively styled West Garden: don't expect lawns and borders in this garden! Overlooked on one side by Skule Hill and on the other by Rockstown Castle, it has been designed for year round structure and shape. The ponds in the West garden together with the large one in the Water Garden have also encouraged a superabundance of aquatic wildlife. Note! Advance booking only.

Kevin gave us a very personalized tour of his beautiful gardens & all plants are labeled. Such a beautiful country setting with unusual plants from around the world. After touring Kevin’s gorgeous garden, his wife served us tea in their lovely pavilion. Kevin even offered to take my friend & I back to Adare Village as we didn’t have a car. Wonderful hospitality!

If you are a gardener you will love this place, if you not you will love this place !!
Kevin is a knowledgeable gracious host, a most enjoyable tour followed by refreshments on the patio.
Highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend, friend and doggie visited this garden and this was my favourite experience so far, Kevin was an amazing host, so knowledgeable and welcomed us into his garden with open arms. The beauty of the garden is breathtaking and the work he has put into it is amazing. I learnt so much and will be putting my new information to good use to create my own garden one day. I loved everything about my experience here and would definitely recommend. We even had a few glasses of port at the end. If I am ever in Ireland I will definitely be returning.

Our tour was both awe-inspiring and informative. Kevin is so knowledgeable and he clearly loves teaching his visitors.
Not only did we see beautiful and unusual plants and flowers, but Kevin and his wife offered us tea and biscuits so we got to know them a bit.
It was nice to have such an authentic experience with our hosts!

Absolutely amazing garden and lake . It’s so beautiful. We will go back in the summer definitely. Our Tour guide was excellent . Very knowledgable . We would recommend a visit 100%

Kevin's customized tour, to match my interests, was absolutely wonderful. I had contacted him a couple of weeks before my tour, letting him know that while an avid gardener, I had never done any water gardening before and that I had recently moved to a home with a couple of ponds.
Furthermore, the beauty of his garden in January was really inspirational. I will be looking to improve my garden.
This is definitely a place to visit for anyone who enjoys gardens, and especially for those who want to learn more!

Very interesting place to visit, Kevin and Claire are very knowledgeable and keen to share gardening tips. They were very welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit to Coolwater garden.

I visited Coolwater Gardens with my Mother and Sister, we had a lovely time Kevin showed us around his beautiful garden, with all it's hidden gems, sculptures, floating pergola....viewing stand where we climbed to view the surrounding landscape... the main attraction for me was his large pond with all the water lilies. It is a fabulous garden to visit to see all his lovely plants and flowers and hear about where they all came from and what kind of soil they like etc,. etc.,
We finished off our walk with Tea and biscuits, provided by Kevins beautiful wife.

The guided tour, which is included in the admission price, takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes and then allow 30 minutes for free refreshments, so you should allow at least 2 hours. People often stay longer and we won't throw you out. :)
