About
This warm & cosy traditional Irish pub is a haven for those who like the charm of old-fashioned surroundings & quiet conversations. The pub is owned by Jerry Flannery, former Munster & Ireland International rugby player. The pub has received a National Hospitality Award for Best Sporting Pub 2018 and again for 2019. The pub dates back in its present form to 1960's when the building was purchased by Jerry's father, Jerry Flannery Snr and is known locally as Flas. The building itself dates back to the 1900's and was once a bonder of whiskey. This pub features an impressive collection of about 110 bottles of Irish and Scottish whiskies. On a cold winter evening you will be welcomed with a warm smile and roaring fire. Jerry Flannery's is also home to 1314 a late night speakeasy, cocktail and gin bar with live music and DJ’s every weekend. 1314 has received an Irish Pub Award for Best Newcomer 2018 and Best Late Night Bar 2019.

Booked in for food on the 14th of Aug with a Niamh on the phone, she was very helpful and walked me through all the new procedures/guidelines which they are following very impressively. She also walked me through new menu from Handsome Burger which sold me. On the night myself and several friends asked to be seated in view of Tv's because a of match we would like to watch and were accommodated perfectly. We all really enjoyed our food and I couldn't recommend the 'Handsome Roost' burger enough. Overall a really comfortable and friendly experience and I will definetly be returning soon.

On arrival we were walked to our table with ample space between us and everyone else. The burgers were the nicest we’ve ever had!!! Amazing melt in your mouth both the chicken and beef, the service was great we always had a round of drink in front of us and staff were very attentive. We will be back! Also shoutout to niamh who responded very speedy through email when we had to change our booking.

We had a great evening here over the weekend. Excellent communication for booking. Really friendly staff & great, attentative table service & we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Tables were well spaced out & restrictions were adhered to by both customers & staff.
They were also very gracious about us being late as I was trying to round up a chatty group of girls but I really should have rang to let them know or at least had my phone out to hear the 2 missed calls! My sincere apologies as I'm not normally that inconsiderate but the sun & wine took effect!
We'll definitely be returning on our next trip...on time!

Just got back from holidays and our last stop on the way was limerick so we decided to book Jerry’s place. When we got there, there was no warm welcome as such by the manager. He simply said hello, took our temperature and told us to follow him to our table. We were guided out of the bar and upstairs and told this was a non smoking section and our waiters would come to take our order and he left. Where he had put us was the balcony above the smoking section with about 8 people smoking directly underneath us! The smoke was ridiculous. And we have two small children! I asked the waiter to call the manager and when he came I asked why we were put out of the bar and into the smoking section to which he replied it wasn’t a smoking section. I said it clearly was as you can see the smoke coming up so he said he would move us. He then brought us down to a small dark alcove off of the main area again when all the main And bright bar had tables free. That was really enough for us at that point. We got up and told the manager we were leaving. He never asked why but did say he was sorry. Thankfully we found a place where we could eat in a pleasant and lively atmosphere afterward. This was the last leg of our holiday and definitely the most disappointing. We felt undervalued and like we were a bother to the manager. It’s a pity as I and all my extended family always made it a point to call in to Jerry’s for a drink when we are up in Limerick for Christmas but I’d be slow to do that now. We had been treated so well in bars and restaurants in Waterford , Ennis and Galway for our staycation and this was a really poor experience.

Absolutely disgraceful how the security treat people in this venue . I was looking for my jacket being polite to people who were not being polite back when security approached me & stated that we were making a scene which we were not. Other customers were extremely defensive as I was looking, however, security surrounded me & my friends accusing us of shouting which never happened. When confronted about their behaviour they immediately got defensive & told lies to cover their own behaviour.

The bar and setup itself is top class but when it comes to building loyal customer relationships they only care about taking your money!! I have arranged 2 nights out for our casual astro soccer group with kitty money we have left over from weekly game where I try and provide food and drinks to attending players. These nights went off really well and no issues here but ordinarily when you give a little and in our case a lot from our kitty 1k (excluding all money spent on drinks afterwards) you hope to get something back and in this instance what I was looking for with a 3rd night was not amounting to a whole lot possibly 10-20 drink tokens at a €5 a go!! Unfortunately once I finally got talking to a manager in here Ciaran he was beyond unaccommodating and rude and so we will go elsewhere for this upcoming night in June and all future events which is a pity but there is lots of other pubs around that I imagine will reward loyalty! Hopefully the owner gets to read this and fully understands how his managers treat customers and if wants to contact me by all means he can get my details from previous bookings I have made!!

As a premium bar, we take pride in offering a "top-class" experience to all our valued patrons, and while we regret any disappointment regarding your request for free drink tokens, we must uphold our standards for fairness across the board.
Regarding your interaction with our manager, Ciaran, it's important to note that prior to Ciaran's involvement, our reservations manager had already addressed your request. While Ciaran's approach may have appeared direct, it was intended to efficiently communicate our policy, rather than to be perceived as rude. Our aim is always to provide courteous and attentive service to all our patrons.
It's also worth noting that over 60% of our party & event bookings come from repeat customers, many of whom have been valued patrons of Jerry Flannery's Bar for years.
Once again, we would like to thank you for your custom to date, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and demonstrate our commitment to providing a high-quality experience for all.

All around great experience in Flannerys yesterday.
Visited flannerys with a group of friends for food and drink on Saturday afternoon, welcomed by a warm group of staff and served by the cute, petit barman with the cheeky grin, named Jordan (The star of the show). Couldn’t recommend it enough, just make sure Jordan is working for your visit !

I recently went to Flannery’s and 1314 for a friend’s birthday. Upon arriving I was heckled at the door and harassing comments were made about my body (muscles) and my ID. Once inside, we were having a great time until a bouncer approached me on the dance floor and told me to put on a jumper. I was wearing a high neck vest like many of my friends however as a man that was seemingly not allowed. I did as I was told and made arrangements to leave an establishment that obviously didn’t welcome those who present in anyway that isn’t heteronormative. When leaving I was stopped by another patron who told me that a bouncer had asked her to get my ID. I promptly said that I wouldn’t be showing her my ID as she didn’t work there.
My experience was embarrassing for both myself and the venue. This space does not allow for non conforming expression and I would fear for anyone who presents in any way as queer, man, woman or non-binary. The bouncers focused on hassling a gay man at a party rather than the numerous men who were groping the women I was with.

Excellent beer,right up to closing time.Don’t ofter review pubs but last night the last pint was as good as the first.staff very professional,complement’s to the manager,security well run.
Music-if you play 80’s music the DJ needs to know 80’s music not play the last 20 songs from now 7 (twice)bit young maybe but everyone else seemed to like it?
Would highly recommend it and will be back,

i was in jerry flannerys bar last friday night for dinner. i have nothing but prasie for the whole experience. sanitiser and temperature taken at the enterance. the food was great..handsome burger. the staff were so friendly too. top marks
