Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Heritage Centre provides lots of information with its displays and artefacts from the German Palatine settlements in Ireland in the 1700's, the changes that the Palatines brought to Ireland and lives of these people. Padraig was extremely helpful and provided additional information from his local knowledge of the area. A visit is recommended for anyone visiting the area who is interested in history / agriculture / migration. A very unique aspect of Ireland's colourful history.

Called here on a Thursday afternoon and was the only visitor. Result. That meant I had Austin all to myself. He's a mountain of knowledge of all things Palatine. And willing to share. I came away with a better insight into this unique community as well as a few more books. Am glad I visited when I did. Much learnt.

We arrived just as the Heritage Centre was closing for the day, but they were nice enough to let us in for a few minutes to get an idea of the history of these people who moved here from mainland Europe to avoid persecution. The Irish made room for them and gave them lands so they could survive. A very moving story. We will come back again for a more in-depth study of their exhibitions.

If you live anywhere near County Limerick, you would be aware of Palatine influnces and names....this Centre captures and informs one on the very interesting history.
Interestingly the Great Southern Way starts from its car park.

I came across this exhibition by chance. It is situated at the old railway station at Rathkeale. It is a small exhibition but well worth seeing. The staff were most helpful and gave a full account about the Palatines arriving in the area in the 1700's from Germany. Admission is a modest €5. There is also a lovely walk beside the exhibition centre as the old railway track is converted into a pleasant walking area. The only downside is the exhibition is badly signposted. There is a plaque on the wall but is hidden by a tree and better advertising would help tourists find it easily if signs were put up in prominent areas around Rathkeale.
