What a lovely place! Some great food stalls, good butchers, nice fresh produce. The stall holders were friendly and knowledgeable.
Mostly under cover but with some overflow stalls in nearby streets.
Please be aware that the market proper is on Saturdays. I see some people gave only one star because they turned up on the wrong day!
Go on Saturday and you won’t be disappointed.
Note this is sometimes referred to as the Limerick Food Market, but it is situated at the Milk Market.
It would have attracted 5 stars but there is no provision for dogs and their owners wanting to actually sit down and eat at a food market…. Hmmm

We accidentally stumbled upon the Milk Market during our visit to Limerick, and we are delighted we did!! Amazing vendors and stunning food stalls with so much on offer. We purchased some
yummy cookies and were highly impressed with everything we found in the Market. Shame it is only on at the weekend!!

A visit to the Saturday Market located in the Milk Market should be on your agenda if you are visiting Limerick. Given the current circumstances the number of stall holders is slightly reduced but the quality of the food and other produce on offer is second to none. The market is open from about 8am - 2pm. Bring a big bag - you will need it!

The Milk Market is a great place to walk through and just soak in the atmosphere. There are so many stalls and things to see. I bought a crepe from the Creperie for lunch and a cupcake from another stall for dessert. Next time I’m in Cork I’d like to stay somewhere with a kitchen (or at least a fridge) so I can take home some of the fresh items from the market.

Had great expectations going here as I had heard a lot about this market and thought it would be as good as the English Market in Cork but it is quite different and actually nothing like it really. It is more akin to a covered car boot sale with some classic eateries in the mix.
It was a Saturday afternoon we were there and we thought Saturday would be a great day to go there - busy with a good atmosphere but neither were there to be witnessed unfortunately. Don't think there is any reason to recommend The Milk Market or return.

I have travelled to limerick 4 times now since discovering the milk markets (a journey of over 2 hours each way) . There should be one in every county. I visited on a Saturday each time for the food market. The quality of the produce available is fantastic. Fresh meats & fish, sourdough, pestos, tapenade, cheese, fruit, veg, freshly baked cakes, handmade candles, soaps etc. Also the stalls that sell cooked food are fabulous. I cannot recommend this Saturday market highly enough & cannot wait for our next visit !

Was there on friday. About 3 stalls open and booked there really. Maybe better at the weekend but avoid during the week anyway.

Went to see Sinead O'Connor and the venue was absolutely hands down one of my favourite ever venues for a music gig.
No matter where you stand in here you get a great view of the stage yet you're protected from the elements and wind and rain etc but still great air flow unlike usual big top circus type venues.
I loved everything about this place from the great staff to really fast moving queues for food and drink and great sound etc. Will definitely go to gigs here in the future.

Milk market is well worth a visit for lovely food & some Irish culture. The highlight of the trip was listening to 83 year old Tom MacNamra playing his accordium (think it was an accordium) at the market. He played Fields of Athenry for us. Lovely man.

A must do stop for your itinerary. Tons of authentic Irish vendors and farmers with handmade crafts to fresh eggs and cheeses to homegrown flowers and veggies and everything in between. I even picked up some beautiful hand made pottery and soaps. One of our favorite stops in limerick. They’re only open certain days. Get there early and take your time looking around. We really enjoyed it and liked that our money was spent directly with the locals and on authentic food and merchandise. Many of the vendors take cards but you’ll also want plenty of cash.

We stayed in the Absolute Hotel not too far away and walked. The streets around on a Saturday looked very crowded and not sure where nearest public car park is.

Is there parking near the market that is easy to get in and out of. Not familiar with the area. We are arriving on 3/12 around 7am in Shannon and plan to drive over and pick up some things before we go to condo. thanks

Yes, there is a couple of multi story car parks in the area. Not sure about Thursday. Saturday morning is the best time.
