I recently took my 85 year Mum to Ireland for a holiday, she wanted to go in a traditional bar and here some real Irish Music. Dolan's ticked all the boxes. It was lively, great music, good food and lots of very friendly people. The owner Mick Dolan couldn't have been nicer. Five muscicians started at later in the evening this had swelled to 11, what a great soiund! I had visited 2 nights earlier to see if it was suitable for my Mum and what a great night I had then. 4 great musicians, friendly clientele, and the night was made by a small hen party, 4 sisters from Oz and 4 from Limerick, they danced and sang and made a great night brilliant!! Thank you.

We attended the above on Saturday 22nd. December 2012 and it was outstanding. It was my first time in Dolans and it oozes atmosphere and warmth. We were treated to a World Class Feast of entertainment by Liam O'Brien ( former clergyman in " Emmerdale " TV Soap ) and his Swing Band and joined on stage by two delightful Ladies Lisa Bresnan and Kathleen Turner. The huge Audience were treated to all the Christmas Songs made famous by many World Renowned Artistes and those Entertainers were either emulated or even bettered by Liam, Lisa, Kathleen and the Band. There were Standing ovations and encores at the end and one left the venue with a great feeling of Joy and Happiness. Incidentally we availed of the pre gig meal of Chicken on a bed of creamed potatoes and a dessert of Apple crumble for the very modest sum of 10 euro. Outstanding Night and Outstanding Value

Limerick is a great city to visit and Dolans is a real gem, its lively, friendly crowd and the staff are very professional! after a very bad impression of limerick nightlife earlier at Nancy Blakes(dont ever go there) this place really restored our faith in what must be one of the friendly citys in ireland!

I know some of the musicans that play here and they are top class in their field, so sit down and have a pint while listening. The staff are friendly, obliging and the pub food does exactly what it says on the tin.

We had a couple pints of Guiness and heard some outstanding music, both traditional and otherwise, including a young guy who played Flamenco/Latin music on a regular standing harp (not kidding!). Excellent + fun crowd.

This pub was recommended to us by the staff at the Clarion Hotel. Great choice! The food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly and attentive. A true Irish pub with a welcoming feel. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-rating is because we were too early for the entertainment which I understand is the best in town. Too bad we missed it!

Our cabbie recommended this place. It is in an old shipping area of town. The building has a pretty cool history. It used to be a consulate in the 1700 and 1800'still it became a pub in the mid 1800's.
The service great, the staff warm, the food great. Th cheese cake was phenomenal. Probably about the best we have tasted. Our meals were generous, and the seafood chowder was thick and loaded with fish.
The traditional Irish music sessions were really good, with many musicians coming to sit in. The talent that came in was exceptional and were there for the love of the music. There were easily 10 musicians our second evening there.
Th owner, Mick, was a great host, offering to show us around, to see the multiple performance areas. This place is big. He enjoyed telling us some of the buildings history. He readily offered a poster of an upcoming Arlo Guthrie performance at this pub when I inquired about it.
This pub was a warm, fun, place to enjoy classic Irish hospitality. please do visit and enjoy a well poured pint if you are in Limerick.

As we were going to gig in the warehouse I opted to a for a quick bite in the restaurant; the starter warm black pudding salad was stunning. We got a massive bowl to share, and it was lovely.. great food.
The main courses were a bit mhh.. okay compared to the starter, Cod special of the day and seabass were not bowling us over. The dessert, the rhubarb and strawberry crumble was brilliant.. delicious.
So overall, good food for a Tuesday night ( going out on a school night no less ..)

Had an impromptu stop here while travelling back home, up the country, for a simple bite to eat. Warm welcome and accommodating 14 of us without hassle we were seated together in a nice corner of the bar. The food seemed simple but apatasing. Each person cleared their plate and was quite happy with both the service and the food, considering we were carrying some shook heads I'd say well done to Dolans on that!!! All in all definatly worth a visit
