Last Saturday we participated in a really enjoyable tour of the Milk Market. Our guides Siobhan and Tom were so lovely, welcoming, enthusiastic and knowledgable about local history and food. We garnered some new facts about Irish food produce and the history of the city while sampling the large variety of seasonal produce on offer in the market. We had beautiful hot apple juice, crisps cooked in front of our eyes, decadent vegan desserts, Irish made chorizo, pate and seaweed, traditional Limerick ham and pudding, an array of Irish cheeses, local Irish hot dogs and a gorgeous mushroom soup made from foraged mushrooms. Lastly we visited Cahill’s tea shop where we sampled three stunning tea blends. All in all it made for a great experience. We highly recommended it. Just make sure to arrive with an appetite.

We strongly recommend the food tour with Siobhan and Tom as we had a terrific time! We ate very well, the food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. The hosts were great storytellers and fun, relaxed, happy people who were very easy to talk to and had a great rapport with the local producers and merchants. A pleasant surprise was learning the history of Limerick food and the current food renaissance. From Limerick ham famously enjoyed by Queen Victoria to a new generation of producers, you get to taste lots of great food and meet people who are reviving old traditions such as farmhouse cheese-making and those creating new ones such as vegan desserts and wood-fired oven bagels. The atmosphere in the Market was brilliant – we could have spent hours there. You get a real sense of how lucky Limerick is to have such dedicated food producers serving great food on their doorstep. We had the chance to speak with them, learn what inspired them, had demos and just enjoyed more great food. This food tour is a must! It will be entertaining, tasty and memorable for anyone - from first time visitors to locals who wish to learn more about what great things are being done in their own backyard.

This was such an amazing tour! Tom & Siobhán are just so happy and bubbly (especially for a Saturday morning). We were told the history of the area which tied in so well with the tour stops. We got so, so many food samples that I was bursting at the seams when we were finished. Do NOT eat breakfast before the tour or you will miss out on all the gorgeous produce on offer. The food was excellent but the company was even better :) I have recommended it to so many people already. One of the most enjoyable tours that you can do in Limerick! LOVED IT!

This tour filled us to the brim and there were too many courses to count. We remember Irish apples and then freshly made potato crisps made with a drill in front of our eyes. Then the nuthut gave us wholesome bakery treats of all sorts. Huge hunks of delicious cheese, loaded pork sausage rolls, steaming black pudding, smoked ham, huge pieces of fried fish and much more. We were full for HOURS. I highly recommend!

This is hands down the best food experience I have ever had !! Siobhan and Tom give you the warmest of welcomes from the very start then lead you through the Milk Market stopping off at each stall keeping it fun and informative with some very interesting facts about the history of the food and the area. They provide you with the freshest food that’s in season and give you the background on each food stall you stop at including some of the food vendors talking to us about their own business and history with the Milk Market. Everyone is kept entertained throughout and it is great to see the local support from shopping here. I can’t recommend this food tour enough you will not be disappointed. I love that it’s on my own doorstep in Limerick City and I can’t wait to go back again. Word of advice....Come on an empty stomach so that you don’t miss out on everything offered, you will be filled up for the day. Thanks Siobhan & Tom for a wonderful day!
