We really enjoyed our tour of Adare Castle with Sinead. Being a local who grew up in Adare, who could know more about the town. Sinead knew a lot about the history of the castle as well as the town itself. Very informative, interesting and engaging. Great tour, especially for the minimal fee. Thank you, Sinead. …

We visited here on Tuesday on our way home from Killarney. Booked in for the 4pm tour in advance online. Got tickets on arrival, bus left promptly at 4 o clock. Well-restored and impressive castle remains. Beautiful views. Really interesting and entertaining tour provided by very enthusiastic and engaging tour guide. She really went to great lengths to make the history of the castle come alive. We felt really privileged to have had her as our guide. She also gave additional info on what to see in Adare and how to take the river walk to the protestant church. Adare is just a little gem in Co. Limerick. Highly recommended. Many thanks for a wonderful pitstop :)…

We drove past the castle on our way to the Manor and from the Manor. The castle looked well and is nestled by the Golf Club.

We saw several castles while in Ireland, all of them wonderful. My two sons, aged 9 and 12, loved Adare Castle the most (and it’s probably my favorite too) because of the moats, dungeon, portcullis and seeing where a drawbridge used to be (now a sturdy bridge for visitor safety). Our tour guide, Mary, was very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. She gave my youngest son a foam sword and shield to wear in the castle - he was very excited about that. After visiting the castle we walked around the adorable town of Adare - thatched roofs and all, and had a lovely lunch at the historical courthouse. It’s now a restaurant but the upstairs is a museum. A perfect little day in Ireland! Please note: you can’t just go to the castle for a tour. You have to buy tickets at the Adare Heritage Centre and they drive you to the castle from there.…
