Probably left it a bit late in the day to visit this beautiful spot but next time we will arrive earlier and have our picnic on the grounds here instead. So much to explore and appreciate from beautiful landscape, rambling pathways and a great kids playground. Pop in to the tiny cottage slightly exposed under the vegetation and you will be pleasantly surprised what’s on the other side. Reminds me of Narnia as you walk out into a different world on the other side of the cottage. A magical feeling. Definitely recommend Woodstock for all the family.
Will we return: definitely
Plenty to explore- perfect for picnics
Well worth €5.

We were expecting it to be busy so arrived at opening time i.e. 09.00 today (Saturday) and having driven for an hour needed the loo - it was locked. So we walked up through the gardens to the other conveniences and they were also locked!! Ah well, there are plenty of trees and cover! Lovely grounds which look a bit storm battered (similar to our garden at home) but we loved the avenues of trees. There was plenty of information so we could identify most of them and must say the Redwoods are spectacular. I would love to visit when the rhododendrons are in flower and also the wildflower garden. Shame about the café being closed and we could not wait until 11.30 for the mobile coffee truck. Although there is a contactless exit fee facility at the gate, it did not work, so we fished around and eventually managed to find some change. It's a lovely spot for a morning or afternoon stroll. Oh and the loo in the car park had been unlocked by 11.00 and it was clean!!

Garden needs more work, and more planting. Entry fee is 5 per car, so pack the family in and take a few hours walking, playing and picnicking there. Impressive trees, like the redwoods, money puzzles, weeping beech.

Great location if you want a good brick walk or just to wonder around and relax, bring your picnic as there are tables. Also if you are into photography this would be a great visit.

Lovely place for a family day trip.
Enter car park and pay €5,per car to exit that’s it. Includes gardens. Proper toilet facilities in the car park.
Lovely walk around, well kept and easy to do with small children. Gardens are lovely and again well kept.
Playground is very good with conveniently placed picnic tables nearby. Behind slides is an out her playground with a sand pit too.
Coffee van during Summer Thurs to Monday’s.
Noble fir and monkey puzzle walks are great and not too far a walk for smaller children.

This is one of the best gardens I have visited. I can't comment about pre-covid but it was a fiver per car. You drive in and park. When you are ready to leave, you tap your card at the car park exit. Ace! Thr gardens, themselves, were fantastic. There is plenty to read about the history and some about the gardens too explaining what they tried to achieve in each section. I think all ages would love it as there is a playground too. There were free access to toilets too which were fine.
