Lovely grounds, well sign-posted from main road - could do with a nice comfortable coffee shop to accommodate visitors who would like to sit and savour their surroundings

We visited these beautiful gardens upon the recommendation of our B and B host and it did not disappoint. We were lucky to meet a kind gentleman who lives on the property who took the time to give us a personal tour. So lovely even in late fall--I will never forget it.

We go here often for a really pleasant walk through the grounds. It suits all ages and has a playground and picnic area that would suit for family picnics etc. During the daytime there is a toilet. just make sure that you have € in euro coins to pay on exit! or you may have to ring the caretaker to... Went in November which is not the best time to visit a garden. However, the wilder walks are well worth doing but be prepared, some are challenging physically. Did get to sample the cafe delights as it was closed for the winter. Needs to be a dry day.

Having read about this place we decided to have a walk and we were not disappointed. The Monkey Puzzle walk was very impressive. The coffee shop in the garden is quite unique and unforgettable. If the weather permits seating is available outside. Staff at coffee shop and in the gardens were very helpful. I would class this as one of... More

A famous garden. Lots of areas to enjoy the history and horticultural gems. Still a lot of restoration to do but, so far, the works carried out are impressive.

The house is now a stony ruin, but the gardens are worth a visit with terraces, views, and marvellous trees. It would be a great place to take a family for a good run-around.

This is a wonderful place to visit in all seasons, full of history and atmosphere. There are marvelous tea rooms on the grounds in a conservatory designed by Richard Turner who was responsible for the glasshouse range at Kew Gardens in London. The structure is from cast iron with specially curved glass for the roof. It was constructed between 1853... More

We strolled around the grounds on a lovely, sunny spring day and had a fantastic time. It was beautiful out and walked around for an hour or two, just strolling and taking pictures. Afterwards we had tea at the Circle of Friends Cafe nearby. A wonderful spring afternoon for all!
