Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really enjoyed our cycling tour with Jason. There was a great balance between history, craic and sight seeing! The tour is the perfect length for a morning activity in Kilkenny. I'd highly recommend doing it on one of your first days in the city - lots of the information we learned on it kept cropping up as we walked the streets of Kilkenny and it was great to know all the interesting backstories.

We spent a pleasant afternoon with Jason exploring the sights of Kilkenny. The tour was well organised and suitable for all age groups. Even though it was a city tour we were brought mainly routes with no traffic so we felt very safe. We enjoyed the history and stories that Jason told us. I would Highly recommend it.

Ronan was a terrific guide and is passionate about Kilkenny. We thoroughly enjoyed our bike tour and only regret not having the time to do it when we first arrived. It gives you a terrific overview of the city and we returned next day on foot to a few spots that we cycled by on the tour.

Jason, our guide and the owner was terrific! When everyone you pass knows his name, you know you’ve got the right guide. Professional yet super funny, Jason was sad n expert at navigating the city with bike, keeping us all feeling safe and comfortable given the driving on the left-side situation. Learned about the founding fathers and the interesting citizens from and events occurring in Kilkenny. It was a great initial way to see the town and then afterwards, our party knew what we wanted to return too.

We had a funny feeling the day was not going to start out well when we arrived at the meeting point for our bike and hike tour. We were supposed to meet at 10:00am and no one was there, waiting, waiting waiting. Around 10:15 or so the person came rushing in. The bike shop was in the back area in a greenhouse, stifling hot. He did apologize some reason about not being able to leave his home because of some sort of workmen, honestly not a good reason! He seemed very disorganized from he get go, should have left at that point. We thought this was a guided tour, apparently we were mistaken. He got 2 bikes for us, not in the greatest shape at all, we were worried they'd break down halfway there. He went over things extremely fast, not really interested if we were comfortable or not. Then he couldn't find the appropriate map for us, ok now really concerned! When he did find the maps, he talked so fast we couldn't really understand the directions. He didn't really seem that worried, saying you can't get lost, ya right! We figured we'd just figure it out and it would be fine, boy were we wrong. On our way not bad for the first 1/2 hour or then we couldn't figure out the correct way. We asked people who had no idea, we doubled back a million times. It was getting more and more frustrating but we decided to push on. Then when we got on a main road and a roundabout that is where the day ended!!!! We had absolutely no idea which way to go and his map scribbles were gibberish. That was it, we were livid and decided to backtrack and bring the bikes back. When we got back to the bike shop, lo and behold locked up no one there. Figured that was going to happen and when we tried calling him no answer, finally after numerous times my husband got through. He was surprised we got lost and didn't offer us any compensation whatsoever. Horrible customer service. What a waste of a morning, luckily we saved the day and enjoyed walking around Kilkenny on our own. Unless you are booked on a "Guided Tour" do not go on your own and personally the bikes were not up to standard.

Oh My God Linda you are really spitting fire, take a breath, relax, you have yourself completely worked up and are now hell bent on upsetting me and my staff.
You have complained about every single aspect of your interaction with us, yet when you arrived you were nice as pie, you didn’t complain about things in person or on the phone,.
Your husband called and said the bikes were left back and that you got lost, I attempted to find out more about your experience and maybe try to help but he said that you had left the area.
What’s really going on here is the fact that you reserved one bike rental option when in fact you wanted a completely different experience, a guided tour.
It clearly says on the website that the Bike ‘N’ Hike is a self guided option.
This is what you wanted!!
You were fully informed in the yard , before departure , Mark went to great lengths to explain the options . Thousands of similar family groups have enjoyed this package .
You like all other customers were given outstanding support ,advice , options , and explanations. sometimes its impossible to meet , unreasonable expectations .
You should have said that you were not comfortable when left to your own devices.
In addition to maps the routes are sign posted, tracking back and forth a million times is obviously going to stress you out.
We also have a support vehicle so if you get lost or have a break down we can come to the rescue.
Our website clearly states we are not a bike shop and we only meet at yard in Sullivan’s as a depot to begin our tours and give out rentals.
With all that being said I am sorry that you had such a bad experience this is not good for us and I will try to do much better in everything we do, I am going to use this compliant as a training tool for my staff going forward.
As an apology I would like to offer a free guided tour the next time you are in kilkenny.
Sincerely Jason
Owner

This is a fantastic tour which I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kilkenny. Beautiful scenery, historical sites and places of interest were brought to life by Ronan our guide who was excellent. His knowledge, passion and enthusiasm all made this a great afternoon out. Educational and lots of fun.

We did a cycling tour with Conor yesterday and it was a great way to see the city. Conor was very knowledgeable and really gave a great overview of the history of the city. I’d highly recommend the cycling tour for any age or ability.

I went on the guided bike tour with my Contiki travel group of 40 people so we split into 4 groups of 10 and it was a great experience. It was the best way to see Kilkenney in the shortest amount of time and our tour guide was extremely nice and knowledgable about the city. I would definitely recommend to anyone who visits Kilkenney. Staff and experience is 5 stars!

This is a must-do in Kilkenny! We went out with Jason on 19/10/2021 as part of a larger group and it was JUST Brilliant and great fun too! As we weaved across the city, jason introduced lore, history and a new perspective on the city. I have been to kilkenny many times but through jason more was revealed. A GREAT activity, great craic and a great guide.

We meet our guide at the designated time, he was very friendly and polite. He gave us a large selection of bikes and helmets to choose from, got us set up, explained to us where we would be going and off we went, for what was a very interesting and fun cycle. His way of expaining the city of Kilkenny to us was fantastic, he had great knowledge the history and design of the city. The cycle was very easy, and the bikes very new and well maintained. We had a great time on the tour, and would recomment to all. We ranged in ages from 52 to 11, and all had a great time.
Thankyou soo much.

Hi Brian, I noticed that the review didn't match the rating alright. I remember the tour with your group, we had a great time. I know it's not your fault. I'm sure Tripadvisor can resolve this little mistake.
You could copy and paste the review then delete it and post it again. That might be one option. I hope you are keeping well. Kindest regards Mr Bock
