Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took the 30 minute Kilkenny City Tours trip and were thoroughly entertained. Paul, the driver was incredibly funny and knowledgeable, offering some additional commentary to the recorded tour guide. Well worth it!

This was a 30 minute tour of the town that went to many important sites. The bus was comfortable and the carriage was covered in case of rain. The actual tour guide was a recording that wasn't totally clear at all times. The cost was E8.50 for a senior. It was a nice experience.

Our driver, what a character. A Great story teller. Drove safely along the narrow streets. Clearly well known in town. The recorded narrative of the tour was on the spot and clearly spoken.

Paul isba wonderful comedian actor storytelling train engineer. It seems like everybody in town knows him . This train gives a good overview of kilkenny and Paul accepts US dollars and Euros. Its a good price for fun and interesting information and sightseeing. He also gives a website to download pics.

Paul is the funniest tour guide you ever want to meet. Him and his partner are very personable and make sure you’re comfortable and happy. The tour was different whereas it was a recorded tour and not someone speaking to you directly. It’s a nice inexpensive way to see the city before you walk to where you want to go. Very knowledge guys too. I’d say do it!

Great way to visit the attractions in Kilkenny if you don't want to or can't walk for too long.
We had a very good driver and she stopped at the interesting places. Best way to get good pictures is to download them from their website instead of trying to make them yourself coz that's very difficult.

We did this tour as part of a scenic rail tour to Waterford and Kilkenny. We had a fold up wheel chair and driver had no problem putting chair in back. Davey our driver was funny, knowledgeable and kind.
Highly recommend as a way to ride around.
They also have photos posted on their website for free download if you don’t get the perfect snap of any of the sites.

Kilkenny is a small town that can be toured primarily on foot. But don't miss the fun of riding this train (or street trolly) across town to see the sites. The gentleman who runs the train is a wonderful story-teller and really makes for a fun adventure. We got on this tour in front of the Kilkenny castle. Entire tour is 30 min or so.

What a terrific tour! Paul was wonderful and provided such great information (and a few funny jokes). Take this tour sooner rather than later as it gives you a terrific oversight of the best places to tour in town. Thank you for a great time this morning, Paul!!!

Visited Kilkenny on a Trafalgar tour and on a free morning had the opportunity to enjoy a tour on a tourist road train led by Paul Matthews. He was so funny we couldn’t stop laughing. This happened before he drove us around Kilkenny on a very interesting half hour tour. Well done Paul , incredibly entertaining.

Hi, is this train capable of taking a folded up wheelchair
Written 7 September 2017
seats are quite small and narrow so I'd say that it can be not comfy enough for person to move from wheelchair (to the train) but if it's not a problem and questions is if there is place to leave folded wheelchair, it should not be problem + drivers are super nice, friendly and willing to help

Hi, is it possible to hop on and off the train at attractions? Thanks

You can't book for the City train tour, you just turn up. But if you get there in time for the first ride, you probably won't have any trouble getting on. We didn't do a tour of the castle so I'm sorry I can't help you there. Happy travels! Ireland is great.
