A few months ago, while attending the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival, I had the opportunity to tour the Smithwick's Experience. I will admit, while the tour was rather short, it was very informative, steeping itself in its history and the history of Kilkenny. The audiovisual portions of the tour were rather impressive and caught the attention of the visitors rather strongly. The only real issue that I had was that the experience was rather short. Even then, it was still a good experience, and one I would not mind repeating some time in the future.

Excellent tour, really informative and interesting. All the people we met from Smithwick's experience were incredibly friendly and helpful, Simon, Darren and Regina. The tour itself is well worth doing, takes about 45 minutes, and different options available, a pint or tasting board at the end of the tour. It's great that this tour has kept going, so important to keep the legacy of the Franciscan friary of St. Francis Abbey and the Smithwick family brewery alive, even if Diagio have moved brewing to Dublin. Great experience, highly recommend.

Excellent tour takes about 40 to 50 minutes , but very hands on. Loved our tour guide Darren his knowledge of the history of Smithwick’s and the Monks was interesting. Much better then the Guinness Tour which is not the same as it was before CoVid. Highly recommend talking the train to Kilkenny for this tour, well worth it. Beer was great too.

Very informative and interesting tour of this wonderful historic brewery. Our tour guide Jorg was fantastic and made us feal very welcome. At the end we got to sample 3 of their beers in the bar and the staff were warm and friendly. If you're in Kilkenny it's a must see.

Went on the tour with 10 friends, very enjoyable. From the time we arrived at reception all the team were very welcoming. The tour is definitely worth a visit, finishing with a lovely pint of Smithwick’s . Well done to our tour guide Darren who made the tour fun and interesting.

If you’re hesitant about taking a trip to Smithwick’s Experience, go for it! The visit is very interesting and pleasant, neither too long nor too short. The guide is very friendly and fun. The beer offered at the end is really very good! We loved this experience!

Nice little tour , the staff were very warm. It's quite an expensive museum but none of the long solitary walks around the building like the Guinness Storehouse, this is a guided experience it's more personal. I'm a Smithwicks drinker, I liked the information I gained in the manufacturing section. I am very interested in beers and the detailed descriptions of each process were very interesting to me . This is something Guinness doesn't do as they don't have a guide. The ticket is a wee bit pricey for such a short tour, I think we were at the bar getting our drinks in less than an hour, but overall it's a good experience.

This experience was great in all aspects. The tour guide (Adam) was very knowledgeable and great craic and the audio visuals were amazing. The people in the bar and reception were also friendly! A great selection of beers available at the end too!

The tour was fantastic from start to finish, our guide Jorg was brilliant and kept us all entertained and was so knowledgeable. The interactive parts were excellent, and the visual content was absolutely brilliant. We were so impressed. Then the pints at the end were the icing on cake, delicious and refreshing

Three quarters of an hour of guided tour, also with the help of multimedia panels. Free audio guide in Italian also available. It's the old headquarters, now production has moved to Dublin, together with Guinness. The visit ends with a free pint of tasting. Bookable online, although usually not needed. Last tour at 4.00pm It's worth it, although to be honest I've seen more interesting ones in other European locations.
