We live in Waterford and always bring family and friends here when they visit from outside the country. Our toddler loves the big green area to run around and the playground is great. It's a wonderful place to have a picnic on a sunny day. It's s great place to push the buggy around too if you're looking to get... More

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the castle. Excellent walking through the rooms n visualising what it was like back in the day. Restoration still ongoing but fabulous job being done.

This castle is huge and beautiful! Beautiful grounds. You can go in for a tour for about 8 Euros. There is a café inside and playground outside - lots of room for kids to run around!

We arrived late so we weren't able to tour inside but the grounds are beautiful. There is a charge to get in but there is a very informative 12 minute video that provides a great deal of information.

On a cold day in December 2016, we visited the beautiful Kilkenny Castle. We were given a guided tour. I recommend you go anytime of the year, but Christmas is special in this magical castle.

If in Kilkenny on a break a tour of the castle is a must! Before you enter the castle itself and pay for the tour (€8 per adult) you can watch a short video in an adjacent room which gives the history of the castle and its inhabitants over the centuries along with footage of the considerable renovations carried out... If you are visiting Ireland and have some available time, Kilkenny Castle is a great option to see some attractions of a different city! You can take a bus from Busaras to Kilkenny, and walk until the castle. The tickets are bought in the reception, no need to book in advance (we went in February).

The Castle was very nice and the tour was interesting. It is not too long, and the tour guide was friendly and clear.

I have not been in the castle but the outside is AMAZING AND STUNNING. Anyone can come. There is a outside cafe and a playground for the kids. There is the woods and much more to explore in the castles grounds.
