A beautiful country house/Castle dating back to the medieval period. Well kept and cared for with helpful stewards who were more than willing to impart their knowledge of the site. As good as anything you would see on the mainland, and well worth a visit. NB Parking is not easy as the on street parking near the castle is normally... More

Kilkenny Castle is a beautiful castle to visit. Adult tickets are 8. There is public parking nearby but we stayed at Rosquil House B&B and were able to walk to the castle from there, so no need for parking. The grounds are lovely. Make sure to see the audio-visual presentation before you go inside the castle. It gives you some... More

The castle was very neat to tour around in! There were lots of rooms to check out and was neat to take a self tour of the facility. The park ground is amazing and had fun views out of the castle.

Kilkenny is a beautiful place and a trip there wouldn't be complete without a trip to the castle. Be aware that this castle has been heavily restored over the years to bring it back to the condition that you see it now. If you are expecting a medieval castle you will be disappointed as the interior looks more like and... More

The castle was very nice but a lot areas were still being developed. The tour was self-guided with individual guides in each area to go over the history of the room. I really didn't mind this but the quality of the guides were a bit of a hit or miss. Some of the guides were well-versed but others were awful... More

First time here and totally enjoyed everything from the grounds of the castle to inside the castle. Very interesting reads inside there. Staff tell you what you need to know about the castle. Very reasonable prices for what they offer. Beautiful weather makes it look millions. Parking outside is excellent €2.50 for four hours parking or €1.50 for 2 hours.... More

This is probably the best restored castle that we've seen in Ireland. Words can't describe the grandness. Beautiful grounds also with a little café outside.

The castle is beautiful and the town is very walkable. Great place to visit. Make sure you get some lunch at Kilkenny design center (opposite to the Castle main entrance). The place has some great lunch options!

Kilkenny Castle is our pride and joy in Kilkenny city. Walking in the big gate is the start of going back in time. The acres of green grass ,children's play area, romantic walks ,down to the pond with swans and ducks. The old water wheel. The loyal pet dogs grave 😢. Back up to the castle it's a wow to... More
