Do take the guided tour that gives the history of Kilkenny as well as the castle. Good coffee shop too and if the weather is good, 50 acres of grounds to stroll in.

Even if you don’t go in, take time to view the grounds and walk around. Easy central and accessible location. We enjoyed a stroll around the property.

Loved our visit to Kilkenny Castle. The park and the duck pond are worth a visit on their own. The playground is great for young kids and they also really enjoyed the tour of the castle.
