We've visited a few castles throughout Europe and they vary greatly from austere and dilapidated to authentic and accurate. Kilkenny has been restored beautifully and holds many old and original pieces as well.

The weather was beautiful yesterday so we took advantage. It’s great place for kids to run around as well as a very large safe playground. The castle itself is worth a visit lots of history. The two coffee shops provide a respite for tired legs.
