Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Did not get to go inside but looks Grand from outside. Any chance of opening to tourists? Would be nice!

The tower was really cool to go see. Such history in the wall and the whole town and this little section has stood all these years

A key corner tower in the medieval walls around the city, it’s great to see it restored. It looked marvellous against the deep azure of the sky.
A symbol of the power and importance of the city in that era, at our visit it wasn’t open. But it was possible to walk around it and see its solidity.

If you have the time, and are already in Kilkenny, by all means go by and take a look. If you don't, be more discerning and visit one of the higher value sites that are available.

The Talbot Tower has been restored and the public viewing area enhanced with informative information boards outlying its history. Another of the important historical sites that are well worth a visit in Kilkenny.

It is of historic interest but the only guides are the placards with information. One can walk around but there is no entrance to the interior. Well worth the short time it takes to survey the site.

This is an old and interesting site to walk around and explore and as well to read the various signs which explore the life of a soldier and what the daily life was like way back when.
There are some locked areas in which one cannot go into and also there are no restrooms on site so be warned.
It doesn't take that long as the site isn't that big and so you should be able to explore everything in like less than say twenty minutes.

Sadly I wasn't able to head inside and I am not sure if it's really open at all anymore. From the outside it looks interesting and if you're close, it's worth a look, but it's not really worth walking there to just have a look.
