The medieval mile museum is exceptional. Not only is the restored building and displays world class but the history of Kilkenny itself and the way it is presented and explained is outstanding. All of this however pales in comparison to the guides. We met Pat...More

Unfortunately I don’t believe this museum is a “must see” in Kilkenny. It’s a relatively small museum, they have made the most of what they’ve got. Some interesting ancient documents, however , it was difficult to see the foundations through the glass floors and the...More

We really enjoyed the tour to the Medieval Mile Museum today. It was very informative and interesting. Pat the tour guide brought history to life in his own unique way. Well worth the visit.

Really interesting guided tour with Pat about the history of Kilkenny. The price is similar to a self guided tour and Pat was very animated and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit!

A small building with a good display of antiquity. We missed the official tour but caught up with the docent in the middle of his tour. It was wonderful!. He was funny and rather irreverent!!! Rather adult language but wonderful!!! Find him.

This museum is a great introduction to Kilkenny and it’s very rich history. Our tour was led by the very informative and passionate guide, Pat. Great for all ages. The tombs and their excavation are just fascinating.

Kilkenny is one of the most important cities in norman and medieval Ireland. The museum is inside the site of a formerly derelict church that was the heart of the city at its height. Because it was derelict, it has been possible to do archaeology...More

Brilliant place to visit and learn about the history in Kilkenny. We did the self guided tour. Got little mini speakers that you connect to various exhibitions so you can go at your own pace.

My husband and I had two days in Kilkenny, and our time spent at this Museum (with a guided tour by Pat) was so fascinating, my only regret is that we didn't do it first! The history is made tangible once you walk the streets...More

Good Morning, Q park on ormonde street or Dunnes Stores Car Park are the easiest to park and are just a 2-3 minute walk to the Museum.
