First visit to the caves. It was well worth the visit. Guide was brilliant she told us every thing we needed to know and more about the caves. My 13 year old boy found the caves very interesting as he was studying caves last year at school. Wear a jumper and sensible shoes

Price of guided tour was very cheap, only 10 euro for the family which took about 40 ins. The tour guide himself was very knowledgeable and delivered the tour very well. Nice cafe to have a coffee afterwards. Not suitable for any persons with disabilities.

Absolutely loved it. Very knowledgable guide. Full of stories about the cave as well as its origins. 700 steps down to cave which is very wet, even in summer, so care is needed. Also it's very dark so maybe not suitable for children. One thing to note. The guide turns out the lights to give an idea of how dark... More

This is a must see location should be one of the wonders of the world. It is hidden away, a bargain price to visit history is brought to life by the guides who are full of humour and life. It is a wonderful piece of ancient history but the history is brought into date as ( no spoilers) even recent... More

It was a grey afternoon so he decided to try the cave for the first time. It's organised tours to time your visit well. Dress for the cold/damp and maybe bring a torch, and don't wear flip flops. The tour is made by the guide. A wonderful older gent, and a great story teller. He'd our two kids enthralled. The... More

Went to Dunmore Cave as we were touring the country. We planned on seeing the cave because we love seeing the sites and hearing of its history. The cave itself is gorgeous but it's history is even more astounding. It is the site of one bloody battle and a most tragic ending. Find both in Dunmore Cave. Not one of... More

We went to these caves without really expecting what we would meet. First of all the price was really nice, only 2 euros for students. A guided tour was included in the price and the guides stories and explanations really enhanced the experience. Definitely worth the drive to get there and would recommend to everyone who is in the general... More

We do not think it is worth the time. It is not expensive for family and took about one hour but nothing special.. Will not come again or recommend friends to go

We visited whilst in Kilkenny with our boys aged 7&9, only 15 minutes out of the city, easy to find as its well signposted. Definitely wear comfy shoes and a jumper or jacket. Reasonable price for a family of four, our tour guide was great, and clearly had a real passion for the history and geology of the caves! A... More

My husband and I rented some bikes in Kilkenny and rode them to the cave. The cave is so different from anything else we visited in Ireland. It is a little off the beaten path and there were not huge crowds when we went. It is full of history, magic and wonder. Breathtaking and beautiful. I would love it see... More
