About
There’s nothing a sheepdog likes more than to hunt sheep, and Michael will prove this as he puts his dogs to work. Throughout the demonstration, he will explain what each command means, giving a good insight into the dog training technique. This demonstration is a must see for all. You will witness the intelligence of these sheepdogs as they follow the commands obediently. This is a perfect opportunity for you to capture the true essence of Irish country living. Our sheepdog demonstrations showcase the process of sheep herding, and we have specially designed packages for corporate team building, so if you fancy a break from the office and a fun day out with your colleagues, look no further!

Due to it presently being lambing season, we got to hold and feed two day-old tiny lambs! They were super cute and didn’t mind being passed from person to person of our group.
The dog herding demonstration was brilliant! We were able to witness a display of the sheep and the dog relationship. It is funny how the dog didn’t take her eyes off the sheep for a moment, and there seemed to have been constant negotiation between them.
It rained for a little less than half the time we were there but there is a wide covered area, a tiny shop and bathrooms for hand washing if needed.
An experience that should not be missed, regardless of age!

If I could give this experience more than 5/5, I would do so. Our family (with 3 teens) visited last week and really enjoyed the sheepdog demonstration. Michael was very informative about the dogs' training, and also told us a lot about the wool industry. He welcomed questions and didn't make anyone feel rushed. The dogs were so well-trained, and it was really fun to watch them herd the sheep and follow Mike's whistle commands. We loved getting to chat with Mike and his wife, Lisa, after the other tourists had left. They are very delightful and welcoming people. They even let my family experience a little more than the typical tour. I highly recommend making this a stop on your journey!

Thank you so much Michael for the amazing, jaw dropping demonstration and experience. Your crystal clear and fun style to discuss very complex topics about leadership in dogs (and men) helped us open new doors in our relationships with our dog.
I would recommend this experience to all dog owners and to anyone who is interested in developing stronger leadership skills.

Michael was amazing at teaching us all about the sheepdogs and their training. He was great to chat to and it was well worth the trip down from Dublin. I would suggest though to all travelers to take the long way through the Wicklow mountains when going to this activity as we did - as you will get some amazing views and also visit Hollywood on the way. Michael was even kind enough to bring out 2 puppies at the end of the demonstration for us to play with. My partner has been going on since we've got back from our trip about what an amazing time we had at this place. The addiction these dogs have in rounding up the sheep and following orders was astounding. Border Colie Maggie did an excellent job at rounding up the sheep and showed dedication and passion for her work. If you want a really unique Irish experience then this is definately it!

This is well worth your stop. I think I have a lot to learn from Maggie about standing my ground. One look at how she answered the sheep’s stomp with her lowered head and shoulders and low growl and I thought, ahh, that’s how it’s done!
Also my floofy lap dog is a complete slacker.
Michael was wickedly funny and informative. I am still chuckling, days later. My husband’s family are farmers, so they talked about farm life and family as we learned what a working sheepdog does in action. We bought trinkets from the shop and even played the bodhran.

Super interesting!! Also just enjoyable chatting with Michael and getting to know more about his experiences and about that part of Ireland. We went on our own vs with a tour group so it wasn't such a big crowd when we got there. I even got a little visit from one of the dogs at the end. There's a little gift shop at the end where you can get fairly priced locally made souvenirs. One of the highlights of our trip!

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland. Couldn't help to smile through all the time we where there. The dogs are very friendly and so well trained. Mick was amazing, using humour to deliver information about the sheepdog and life of a farmer in general. The demonstration of the sheepdog working left me speechless. Totally recomend it!

One of the true highlights of our 16-day tour of Ireland. Michael was absolutely fantastic in providing the history and current context of working sheepdogs and then it was a privilege to watch him lead Maggie through her paces and see how the sheep responded. I think it is an experience that all visitors to Ireland will cherish.

We have learned so much about the dogs and the sheep and Michael is really nice and entertaining as well.
The dogs and the demonstration were amazing and we had the opportunity to cuddle the 5-week-old puppies. Great!
Thank you so much Michael!!!

With 28 of my swiss parliamentary colleagues, we visited Michael and his wonderful sheepdogs Maggie and pup Junion and a 9 month old sheepdog in training. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. Michael explained the basics of Sheepdog training and then went on to show us how it works in real life. An amazing display of how canine and human intelligence work together. Well worth the visit and I highly recommend it. Many thanks Michael.

I can only tell you the name of the person that we booked our tour with. His name is Derick Smith from Beautiful Meath Tours. Just google his name. You can tell him what you want to see on your tour. Tell him that you are interested in the Sheepdog demonstration and he will be glad to arrange it for you. His tours are great and he and his drivers are wonderful. I hope this helps.
