John took us coasteering in July 2022, and it was pretty much the highlight of a trip to Ireland that was jam packed with awesome experiences. Not only was it super fun and well planned, but John provided us with local history and ecological knowledge in addition to being a great guy and excellent guide. The wetsuits are plenty warm and the coasteering experience can be tailored to different experience levels - us three adults wanted max thrills, but the day before the company had taken out a big group of kids. Highly, highly recommend!!!

Our kayak to the lighthouse for sunset paddle, with John and Eoin, will stay one of the highlights of summer 22 for me.
Thanks to John for entertaining storytelling:)

We did kayaking with Eoin and Finn who are so friendly and knowledgeable. They told us lots of great stories of the surrounding land and we had lots of fun jumping into the water at the lighthouse, not to mention the great kayaking or the 3 dolphins that are regulars. I need to practise my penguin jump 🙂 We’re looking forward to coming back sometime to try the coasteering.
We would highly recommend.

Highly recommend the coasteering experience with John @wildwateradventures. It is truly amazing experience and John knows every inch of the Kerry coastline. Jumping off cliffs, swimming into caves, and learning about wildlife! Many thanks John & Jack for taking such great care of us and for an incredible experience!

We went coasteering this morning with John. 5 friends and 8 strangers who became friends! John is just such a fountain of knowledge and told us so much about the surrounding geology, geography, sea life and flora and fauna. You can tell he truly loves his job. From start to finish he was so professional and safety conscious and even when nervous at the higher jumps he put everyone at ease. We had such an amazing time. 2.5 hours in, on and under the water, exploring the cliffs and caves of beautiful North Kerry. Jumping off the cliffs and rocks was such fun! A beautiful and unspoiled spot that is worth the 30 minute drive from Tralee. It certainly was the most fun I’ve ever had in a wetsuit!!! We even found a star fish!! Would highly recommend a coasteering session with John and Jack and all at Wild Water Adventures.

We had a family group of 16 spend a fun half day with John Edwards and his team sea kayaking and coasteering in two different locations within 30 minutes of each other. So, this would suit groups who might like to do different things on the same day or maybe be even many things on the same day. They also offer additional events and the website will provide you with much information and choice. Coasteering involves more than jumping into the sea from different ledges and includes sea caves, swimming under sea arches, information about local rock formations and wildlife as well as important local stories. But, it does allow you to jump from ledges into the sea at varying heights. I stopped after a while but the younger crew kept going. John has a particularly calm and reassuring way of convincing you to push yourself on just that bit further. It is also great fun to jump in to the sea like a penguin (you’ll have to sign up to find out). Just one practical point, there are no toilet facilities at the Meenogahane Pier but Ballyheigue has good public facilities and the sandy beach is worth seeing anyway. The kayaking is at Fenit Pier. Sea kayaking with the good possibility of seeing dolphins was a big draw. The kayaks are very safe and we even had one of our group who is not a big fan of the water do sea kayaking with the group. These are both a guided activities and safety is a priority for the team at WWA. John and team, thanks for a great day out, for pushing us to our limits and we’ll definitely be back next year to try out some new activities, including those 8 person stand-up paddle boards we spotted on the way out. Oh we did see three dolphins!

Had such a fantastic time kayaking. I believe it was Eoin (sorry if that's not right!) took us out and he was fantastic. It was lovely to see someone who loved their job and was very knowledgeable and good craic.
Definitely an experience worth every penny and have such much confidence for future kayaking

Absolutely exhilarating experience.

My 12 year old son was very anxious about it at the start but John and his team were so supportive and helped him overcome his fears! In the end he was doing really high jumps and even did a back flip!

Great fun!
