8-Day Donegal Guided Walk

The Donegal Coast guided walk introduces safe, quiet sandy beaches amidst its rugged shores which surround a tranquil land rich in heritage & folklore. Malin Head, the northernmost point of all Ireland lies in Donegal’s Inishowen Peninsula. Donegal is one of the 9 counties of the Province of Ulster, yet is governed by the Republic of Ireland.

Your first three nights are based in Ardara, the centre of the tweed industry. From here you will visit Glencolmcille, with its picturesque sites, and clime spectacular Slieve League. You then move north to the Gweedore area for the next 4 nights.

You may wish to partake in other activities on your “free day”, or we may arrange a boat trip to one of Donegal’s many islands, weather permitting. Next you climb Errigal, Donegals toughest mountain with a final hike to the cliffs around Horn Head near Dunfanaghy.

We visited on a quiet weekday. Our 4 year old had a great time being "captain" of the pedal boats followed by a great little walk around the park. Mary at reception was fantastic... So enthusiastic and such a warm greating !

Came for breakfast not being sure what to expect. Firstly the staff were pleasant and kept to covid 19 rules. The breakfast's were perfectly cooked. the Irish breakfast was without a trace of oil and my egg perfect. The real boss's brioche cooked to perfection and the latte spot on. So why spoil the mood with juice from an Aldi carton ? Totally out of place with such beautifully cooked food. If you can sit outside then it is a lovely setting but inside the building echoes like a school changing room. You can't hear yourself think. So a mixed bag Food great Good value Crap orange juice And sit outside if you can.

Really interesting and well-organised investment has created a super environment for a wetland experience. The lay out of the space, the hides, the reeds, and the other facilities are really impressive. Ducks and swans in residence and a wonderful array of other birds (herons, curlews, egrets) in the vicinity.

Great fun on the pedal boats for all the family. Lovely views of the mountains as you're pedalling around the lake.

Great fun on the pedal boats, followed by the most enjoyable and informative tour of the local flora and fauna, we even met a little lizard - a great way to spend a few hours in Tralee. Also very mindful of the covid rules, very clean and staff doing everything to ensure a safe visit.
