Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a really lovely place to visit. What a transformation from a dump to this Eco park. Lots of school children having a wonderful time.
Free parking and entry.

This is a review of the Lakeside Cafe inside the visitor centre, not the centre itself as this is excellent, but the Cafe doesn't have a separate review page.

I was very disappointed to be served almost raw (definitely undercooked!) bacon today and felt sick upon realising what I had eaten, After the first bite, I thought it didn't taste right. I scraped off the sauce and noticed the bacon was pink and the fat was pure white - streaky bacon needs to be cooked and the fat rendered. To the touch, the bacon was lukewarm, probably heated by the eggs that sat on top of it. I did not eat any more of the bacon and my husband mentioned it to the Cafe manager while I was in the bathroom feeling very queasy. Rather than apologising, she was very snotty about it and only agreed to take it off the bill when he insisted as I only ate the bit of overcooked egg.

My husband also ordered a club sandwich, which they make differently from anywhere else, with egg mayo, ham and chicken on bread, not toast. He ate it as he was hungry but just seemed a little lazy to not even toast the bread. My daughter had a chicken fillet which was okay (if a little small for the cost) and the reason there are 2 stars and not 1.

I was so shocked at both the food and the response from the manager as we used to love going to the Wetlands Cafe in the Summer several times a year, but I won't eat there again, I'll bring a picnic if attending activities or go into town.

As a side point, I noted that the cafe staff we encountered were Eastern European, and three were no Irish staff that we spoke to.

Lovely facility, fine childrens playground but really spoilt by the amount of dog poop!! Signs stating €150 fine but obviously ignored. Pity 😔

We attended the workshop on making St. Brigid's crosses & Bridog's. It was very enjoyable, informative and relaxing. The course leaders were very friendly and helpful. My 8 year old daughter loved it and gave a thumbs up to the cake and hot chocolate also 👍

The tour guides Tom and Alan were amazing. We had a group of over 20 people -university students, professors and a nine year old- and everyone enjoyed themselves. The tour guides even repaired my daughter’s stuffed animal buddy with cello tape and imagination! A memory she won’t soon forget. A real look into Irish natural beauty, wildlife flora etc. Great cafe as well and clean facilities with lots of educational materials- incredibly friendly helpful local staff! Highly recommend!

Pretty but not much to do other than walk around, no boats running. Probably best for school kids on a field trip. Nice small lake to walk around (free) and picnic.

Lovely afternoon spent in Tralee Wetlands. Kids aged 3, 6, 9, and 15 all loved it, so did 18 year old and older adults. The peddleboats were great fun and the tower was fantastic. Staff really nice, helpful and welcoming, especially Mary who showed us around. Would recommend for all ages. Love place to visit even in the rain!

A fantastic place, very nice to walk around, they were also very helpful to my cousin who's studying wildlife biology next year in MTU Tralee, the workers were graduates of the same course and came out to answer any questions they had and tell us everything we wanted to know about the course, and then bringing us out on a trip through the wetlands on one of the little boats, telling us everything about the wildlife in the area.

The view from the tower is absolutely lovely, the cafe is amazing too.

Everyone is very nice and helpful, i loved it.
I cannot recommend it enough.

Went on a guided walk with Thomas. He & the place fantastic. Learned new things in a friendly, conversational way. Felt energised and recharged in mind and body afterwards. A brilliant experience. Highly recommended.
