8-Day Donegal Guided Walk

The Donegal Coast guided walk introduces safe, quiet sandy beaches amidst its rugged shores which surround a tranquil land rich in heritage & folklore. Malin Head, the northernmost point of all Ireland lies in Donegal’s Inishowen Peninsula. Donegal is one of the 9 counties of the Province of Ulster, yet is governed by the Republic of Ireland.

Your first three nights are based in Ardara, the centre of the tweed industry. From here you will visit Glencolmcille, with its picturesque sites, and clime spectacular Slieve League. You then move north to the Gweedore area for the next 4 nights.

You may wish to partake in other activities on your “free day”, or we may arrange a boat trip to one of Donegal’s many islands, weather permitting. Next you climb Errigal, Donegals toughest mountain with a final hike to the cliffs around Horn Head near Dunfanaghy.

The views are awesome the course is incredible the people so friendly,Ann &Angela and David the professional in particular made it oh so enjoyable and if you ever get a chance to play this course, take it as you won’t be disappointed. Definitely one for the bucket list and Arnold says that “he designed the front 9 but God designed the back 9”. How right he was.

We arrived early in the morning from our excellent B&B right next door (Barrow House). It was an absolute perfect bluebird day with no wind and bright sunshine albeit a bit chilly. The course is absolutely amazing and our caddie was fun and told great stories. Service was excellent. We would return in a heartbeat. I would love another crack at it!

I love scenic courses and this great Arnold Palmer design is in a perfect location on the coast. The clubhouse was first class and everyone was friendly and helpful. The large driving range and the putting green were in excellent condition. I found the layout to be quite difficult so I was very grateful to have a wonderful caddy, Morris, who helped me navigate the course. The greens were challenging but were in perfect shape. The only time I didn't enjoy my time there was when the winds picked up and when it rained on and off but that's just par for the course (no pun intended). After golfing I grabbed a great BLT sandwich in the restaurant.
