A shirt drove from Tralee or from Ballyheigue or Ballybunnion further along the coast, there's a narrow road down to it and you can park on the beach itself pretty much. There are a few food trucks in the summer but nothing permanent. Parking was available on our visit to the left in the fields by the coast guard. Wide expanse of sandy beach, well kept and beautiful views.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 August 2023

- Karen O2 contributionsBanna Beach - Golden Sandy beach with specatular waves and panoramic viewsThis is my childhood beach where I spent many a summer's day with friends and siblings having fun. I had a recent trip Banna last Thursday & Friday and it is just as beautiful as every. Grab a few photos of Banna as the back drop. Tourists to Kerry should visit this golden sandy beach, have a walk along the sand or pop in for a swim.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 October 2023

Beautiful beach, crystal clear water, off lead dog friendly. Although it has numerous car parks, arrive early as it fill up quickly.

We love this beach .
It is huge and stunning .
Loads of free parking , brilliant facilities - they have loads of food trucks which even sell vegan food .
Toilets are pretty good for a beach .
Dog friendly too . Our dog loves it .
The only thing against this beach is that it is often quite windy as it is so open which can make the temperature feel lower than it is .

I had cause to unexpectedly spend quite a bit of time in Tralee recently as a family member was in hospital there. This led me out to Banna which is the closest beach to Tralee… only about 20 minutes drive. There is lots of parking, even during the heatwave. The beach is very , very long and wide and has nice hard sand suitable for very long walks. There was a small area of the beach supervised by lifeguards . I saw a lot of people surfing and the waves on a few days were perfect for this. Highly recommend!

Do you have beach wheelchairs? 🤔
unkybuck
Tralee, Ireland766 contributions
No beach wheelchairs but we have 2 concrete ramps onto the beach which you can access with your car . The ramps end on hard tidal sand not soft sand and you could use a standard wheelchair if you have your own , the beach is 5 miles long .
Just remember to bring the he car back above the tide line .

hi - is it possible to get a bus to Banna Strand from Tralee?
Liam I
Dublin, Ireland52 contributions
I don't think so, but best to check with Bus Éireann in Tralee.
As far as I am aware there is a regular service to Ballyhigue. It would be possible to use this, alighting at Banna cross. But be aware, the walk from there is at least 1km.

Who do I contact for Horse riding on Banna Strand please?

I did not see any horses on the beach but I certainly can see the appeal. Perhaps you should contact the Banna Beach Hotel/Resort as they seem to have everything that happens in their area under control and they are nice pople
